David Byrne

New album, so what do you think? Horrid cover. Very ugly.

I like it! It's funky. The cover is a take on Beauty and The Beast. In this case St. Vincent is the beast.

I looove this album so far!! Have only listened to it quickly, but I plan to give it a proper play tonight... I am not much of a David Byrne fan (St. Vincent was the draw for me here), but this album has made me want to hear some of his other work, besides the obvious stuff.

And Beast?! St. Vincent is beautiful!! hammer

If you will, so will I

LOL:- No, that's how they descibed the album cover. They reversed the roles for the cover. She's beautiful without the prosthetic make up.

And if you want to get into more of DAvid's music- I would start with Talking Heads. I love Remain in Light, Speaking In Tongues and the live album Stop Making Sense.

Once I pay Peter, Paul, Mary and Uncle Sam, I will definitely give this a spin as I am a fan of both's music.

Talking Heads was great but as a solo artist I can't stand his stuff and yet he still gets lots of critical acclaim, & lets face it, like Dylan, his got a terrible voice.

I think it's an excellent album - a kind of extension to the (superior) Knee Plays for me, what with all that brass. What I really admire about DB is that he keeps moving and changing, lots of new ideas and never letting the quality drop. I'm not a big fan of St Vincent, but they combine well here. I hope the current tour comes to the UK.

I agree...ive searched and only found that David Byrne is heading over here for a series of lectures(?) in regards to his new book 'How music works', which am interested to read but really want to see him live

It's a real good album....Pretty funky aswell. It's got a sound of it's own and love the use of brass on it too. David Byrne is an undeniable talent and St. Vincent is shaping up to be a legend too.
