Eric Clapton- Layla Electric Or Accoustic?

Both versions are classics, but which do you think is better?

Oh & this is a great live version to add!

Pistols sounded like "Fuck off," wheras The Clash sounded like "Fuck Off, but here's why.."- Thedigitialgardener

All music is shit music and no music is real- gunsnhalen

The Unplugged version for me loved the way he slowed it down very bluesy.

The piano outro makes the song. Therefore the original version is the best.

The piano outro played by Jim Gordon, groups drummer is great but you can't ignore the out of this world guitar interplay by Greg and Eric. Electric version sounds is full of passion ,youth and fire.acoustiv version is something like i'm old and i suffer just a bit but i'm cool with it.

Got to give it up for the original - what a band that was, and all at the height of their powers. I thought the bluesy version was an interesting novelty but nowhere near the impact of the original. Duane Allman adds so much to it.

Sorry I just don't "get: the acoustic version. I'm surpirsed and shocked that it was such a big hit. This song is very powerful and melody driven by the elecric guitar riff of the original. And that coda...wow, pure heaven!

The acoustic unplugged version strips away all that for some dull plodding, imo.

No contest: for me, electric all the way!

The song was originally written as a bluesy type number. It wasn't until Duane Allman came up with that riff, that they changed the melody of the song.

Electric all the way. I don't like accoustical "unplugged" anything. Simple stuff like sitting on a stool playing a guitar reminds me of Roy Clark and Buck Owens on "Hee Haw".

Andy is a four letter word.

Electric with that piano ending, one of the best guitar hooks of rock and roll!
