How would you rate Gwen Stefani as a singer?

Would you say she is good or that her voice is just suitable for No Doubt?

the second option.
I like her voice, but I never would have called her an outstanding vocalist.

On a scale of 1 to 10, I'd give her a 4. Her voice is good for her group [& pop music]. But her voice is rather empty imo. @ least she can sing well enough though...nod

I think it is her voice which made No Doubt stand out, not necessarily the best sounding one technically, but different to get you interested, I still really love her album L.A.M.B!

of all those eye-candy/slighty jerky female lead singers of those slighty jerky pop/rock bands of the mid-to-late '90s, she was the most charismatic...

of course her voice only makes sense if we're talking about pop/rock, she AIN'T a great singer for crying out loud, but she gets the job done, often with style

And I like it. Just not with everything that has nothing to do with No Doubt. Though Hollaback Girl is going to be a classic (whether y'all like it or not lol ).

She has style though.

Yes, her voice is just right for No Doubt's sound. And her solo song "Luxurious".....forgive me, but I loved that song!!!

Her voice is interesting with the music she makes but as a vocalist without a band, instruments or music behind it.... is average best but since her voice is some what "unique" and she does creative things with it, it makes up for her limited range.

I like the "warble" in her voice, like when she makes it quiver... but I think that is because I LOVE Siouxsie and think GS tries a lot to copy her voice. I like Gwen, but I LOVE Siouxsie!

She's cute, her voice is cute, she's got a cool attitude and some of No Doubt's songs are pretty classic at this point. All that has made her extremely wealthy too. And a Cover Girl on top of it.

Other chicks could sing "better" but so what, it's completely meaningless. While Beyonce is an obnoxious trainwreck, Gwen Stefani is a bonafide icon of sorts and I hope she sticks around for a long time.

I think her voice goes well with ND, but her solo stuff was bloody awful. Sugary, immature crap to put it mildly. I hope the new ND album lives up to what they can do as a band.

she's often shaky live but I like her voice a lot, it has character and is instantly recognizable which gives her an edge over vocalists who are terrific but can be mixed up with other singers out there.

Now that you've mentioned it Gwen's voice does remind me alot of Siouxsie. A song like "Oh Baby" or "Kiss Them For Me" could be sung by Gwen without missing a beat.
