Sly Stone ~ His Doo Wop Years

A very underdiscussed era of Slys.

It's straight forward Doo Wop, but it's amazing that it's the same man that went on to change the game permanently.

Beginning with my fave:-

Heavenly Angel

Yellow Moon

Long Time Alone

Help Me With My Broken Heart

Oh What A Night

You've Forgotten Me

A couple of throwbacks to that time he did on Small Talk:-

Mother Beautiful

Wishful Thinking

This Is Love

If you look at it, funks 3 main fathers started with Doo Wop. James Brown with his Famous Flames and George Clinton's Parliaments.
PRINCE: Always and Forever
MICHAEL JACKSON: Always and Forever

It is very frustrating that his pre fame recordings have not been compiled in a single collection. I'm not sure how many discs that would require but it would be great to have it all together in one set.

Well, we all know he isn't getting the respect he deserves today....but that's for another topic.

The only collection i know is this http://www.amazon.com/Doo...B002SGRPZM

Which came out in '09.
