One vote for the Rock Hall of Fame (Barry White or Luther Vandross) Both of these artist careers are quit similar. They started way before they became known to the world though about a decade apart. Luffa in the 70s' and BArry a decade before.
Both started out as somewhat n the background. White early on as a session musician and music producer in the 60s. Vandross was a background vocalist and sometimes pianist on records.
Both where known in their hey day as the brother who make the ladies moist.
If you could only pick one singer to make the Cleveland institute, who would it be.

Very very tough but not choosing.
They BOTH equally have impacted music vocally and music wise and BOTH deserve to be in it.

Barry White, not even a one two about it.
And I'm partial to Luther, but Barry's music was a strong movement during the 70s, and its influence was inescapable.
Of course if and when he makes it into RHOF, Gene Page should be paid a great tribute because had it not been for him, I'm sure Barry's music wouldn't have had this impact. Both men balanced each other, in terms of how they collaborate.

I'm not a huge fan of either of them but I like Barry White's music much more so I'll go with him. Luther's style of Quiet Storm music is just too darn quiet.

I love me some Luther but Barry deserves this by a mile.
His music had a much bigger impact globally, yet he is always overlooked when we talk about legends of the industry.
