Natalie Cole has had a tough few weeks after the death of her mother Maria following a short battle with cancer.

And the strain of the difficult time is certainly showing on the singer as she stepped out for dinner in Los Angeles last night.

The 62-year-old looked incredibly gaunt as she left Mr Chow in Beverly Hills.

Wearing a short blue dress, the This Will Be (Everlasting Love) star’s legs looked incredibly thin.

As well as her recent grief, Natalie has been besieged with health problems.

In 2008, she revealed she had been diagnosed with Hepatitis C and in 2009 had a kidney transplant
following her diagnosis with kidney disease.

She has also been open about her battle with drug addiction, in which she was once addicted to heroin and crack cocaine.

Clearly Natalie has been through a lot over the past few years. Hopefully the grief of her mother passing doesn’t have her seeking drugs as a relief, but for someone that just left dinner it damn sure doesn’t appear that she’s been eating much.

Whoa! Didn't she lose a lot of weight a couple years ago when she was really sick? Obviously, she's still having some health problems. I don't think anyone would lose that much weight on purpose.

That was my first thought seeing the pictures. She hasn't been in the best health in recent years...probably hasn't for much longer than we know. Hope she gets well soon.

How it must suck to have had your hair and nails done, to throw on a nice skirt and pair of shoes, to go out on the town, to smile for the cameras, for the public and media to only comment on how bad you look ("Natalie Cole Appears Sick... Hollywood"). My heart goes out to her, she's one of the few legends we have left.

Considering all the bad things Natalie has done-who really knows She is definitely going through some things-very sad.

Didn't she have a kidney transplant sometime back? This, combined with her past drug use, does indeed take a toll on her body.

yes it is

She has had a lot of drug and health problems in the last decade or so, but still! She ain't lookin' too good in those pics. I went and did some searches and she's looked better than that in the recent past. Hope she's doing alright.

Yep.

Man, she looks bad. That looks like health problems as oppose to a severe drug addiction. Im not saying she is or isn't on drugs but i know severe crack heads and heroin addicts that aren't physically waisted like she is.

God bless her and i hope she gets well from whatever she's going thru.

My prayers go out to Sista Natalie...We all know she's been battling health problems since she went public years ago....The first time I noticed how really, really thin she was was AFTER the transplant when she performed @ the Soul Train awards for Gladys....She was Beautiful yet so frail on stage..If i remember correctly the way the camera captured her while performing was rather odd, as if not to do too many close-ups...maybe that had more to do with the Director and less about Nat's appearance...

Really makes me sad to see this...I hope she can recover.
