Chris Brown and Drake were sued Wednesday over a bottle-throwing nightclub brawl involving their entourages, as a company with ties to the club sought to hold the music stars responsible for the melee.

Representatives for the R&B singer and the rapper didn't immediately answer inquiries for comment about the $16 million lawsuit, which faulted the artists for -- at a minimum -- doing nothing to stop June 14 melee and said it sullied the chic Manhattan nightspot's name.

Brown and Drake should bear blame for a glass-flinging, broken-bottle-swinging free-for-all in a crowded club "in circumvention of the venue's extensive security measures," says the lawsuit, filed by Entertainment Enterprises Ltd.

The company owns the trademark for Greenhouse; the owners of the club itself aren't involved in the lawsuit and declined to comment.

No criminal charges have been filed against anyone in the fight, which left Brown, NBA star Tony Parker and others injured. Police say the fracas started after members of Drake's entourage confronted Brown on the dance floor as he was leaving the club's basement lounge, called W.i.P. Drake's representatives have said he was on his way out and didn't injure anyone.

The lawsuit, however, points to news accounts of bad blood between Brown and Drake, both of whom have dated singer Rihanna. Entertainment Enterprises believes the two men instigated, encouraged, or at least failed to stop the fight, lawyer Andrew T. Miltenberg said.

"It's their posse, and they're in charge, and to the extent that they could have controlled or dissipated whatever was going on, we don't believe they did," he said.

Because of publicity about the fight, a $4 million deal to license Greenhouse's name for other clubs around the country fell through, the lawsuit says.

Entertainment Enterprises is headed by a former Greenhouse owner, Jon Bakhshi.

The current owners face suits over the fracas, including a $20 million claim from Parker.

The city shuttered the club for a time after the brawl; Greenhouse reopened July 10. It is continuing to fight a State Liquor Authority effort to nix its liquor license.

This is not even counting that, I'm sure people will sue them seperately too. But Greenhouse will get this money because it's not some bootleg club it's got alot of people that use it and now they are losing business because they look like a straight thug club, get ready to pay up guys.

Well, yeah. Sure. I just don't generally agree with the sums people in The States are suing other people for. It just makes seem being money hungry being an acceptable standard. If people were injured that's of course another matter, but with 16 million you could probably buy 16 new clubs.

I think other people have the responsibility not to start behaving in the sammer. You shouldn't put the blame entirely on the ones that "started it" (especially if the other people weren't associated with either one).

Most big clubs need to be fixed at the end of the night anyway and there's often plenty of broken glass on the dance floor (along with huge stains from drinks). That photo wasn't that much worse than what I've seen sometimes at 3:45AM in clubs.

Chris Brown Camp Calling Nightclub Lawsuit ‘Frivolous’

*Chris Brown’s camp is saying the lawsuit that the W.i.P. nightclub in New York has filed against him is a crock of crap.

As we previously reported, both Drake and Brown have been sued by a company affiliated with the venue (the site of a bottle-throwing bloodfest, where scores of people, including b-baller Tony Parker, were injured) claim the celebs ordered their goons to go to war because of their beef over Rihanna.

TMZ spoke with a rep for Brown who spoke with Mark Geragos (Chris Brown’s lawyer) who says, “It’s a frivolous lawsuit.”

Also, as we’ve reported, people directly involved with the situation who tell us neither Drake nor Chris laid a hand on each other during the melee.

Well Greenhouse i have been too and its not quite the club where u would see this happen, thats another reason for the suit, and the point being that if people on your payroll do this then the suit comes down to you, people were injured, that is a fact and there are going to be more suits, and yes the amounts are high but so are what these cats make, people are going to do that and they should know better, i mean arent they grown ups? As for buying 16 more clubs for 16m dollars, i think you underestimate property in Manhattan, the average for a 1 bedroom apartment (2rooms total) in Manhattan is 3800 a month, and thats the average, property in NYC for clubs and venues and things like that are around 10 times what this club is asking, and lets not forget Tony Parker is asking 20million for what? being in the club with thugs? he needs to check himself, and grow up too, maybe start practicing basketball again and get his skill back

Chris Brown and Drake have been sued again by a man who was allegedly injured in their nightclub brawl.

The two stars' entourages are claimed to have engaged in a fight at New York City's WiP venue in June, leaving several bystanders injured.

Owner's of WiP's sister club Greenhouse have since filed a $16 million (£10.2m) lawsuit claiming that Brown and Drake ruined the company's chances of securing a brand extension deal by allegedly instigating the altercation.

Model Romain Julien is also suing Drake and Brown after apparently suffering a severed tendon in his right hand in the scuffle. He also said he has suffered mental duress and cosmetic damage.

Julien has also named WiP in the suit, accusing club owners of not providing adequate security to break up the incident before patrons were hurt.

He is seeking actual and punitive damages to cover his medical issues, reports The AP.

A representative for WiP said the company will "respond appropriately" to the suit, while Drake and Brown declined to comment.

Julien's filing is just the latest legal wrangling in relation to the encounter, following a separate suit from injured bystanders Nadia Beddini and Lucy Pavlovsky against the owners of WiP.

Dudes better just get used to writing checks out cause alot more are gonna sue, most will be settled but they are def gonna have to pay this off
