The Human League - Human

An 80's hit that has recently made it to "commercial status" courtesy of Liberty Mutual.
Song/Production provided by Jam & Lewis who have used that drum loop on some other tracks that I can't recall at the moment.

Music for adventurous listeners

Loved it then and still do. I recall taking a good bit of flak from a hipster roommate after I scooped it out of a 2nd hand bin for listening to that 'casey kasem bullshit.'

The blonde vocalist was my first pop star crush. She still kinda gets my motor running.

You can tell this would have been on an SOS Band album from J&T. Soap operish lyrics, part time loverish.

I remember reading that J&L were going to be working with Human League and had me scratchin my head when Martha Quinn announced it on MTV news lol.

I bought the album. Swing was a beat too. Are You Ever Coming back nice. But Human was an instant classic when it dropped.

Despite my general preference for the 1978-1981 material, "Human" is my favorite Human League song. It's just sublime.

For some reason, this always reminds me of "Man In The Mirror".

Really one of the best songs of the 80's. Everything I like about music is in it. It's like 25 years old and I still listen to it a lot...it never gets old.

It's the music at the beginning and near the end that reminds me of it... especially the ending.

Great song!

I dont think J.Jam and T. Lewis used the exact loop for other songs. They did use the same drum and percussion sounds on a lot of tracks like Janets Control album and Alexander O Neal stuff.

This song kind of remind me of No One Gonna Love You (SOS Band), like an outtake or the B-side from the Just the Way You Like It album.
