Drunk Country Singer Randy Travis Threatens To Kill Troopers

Country star Randy Travis had another brush with the law Tuesday night after he was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.

Travis was popped around 11:59 p.m. with minor cuts and bruises after crashing his car in...Z reports. No other vehicles were involved in the crash.

The 53-year-old crooner was also apparently showing a bit too much of his Honky Tonk Moon: Travis was naked when cops arrived at the scene and was given clothing to wear for his mug shot, according to the site.

Police were called to the scene of the accident at 11:18 p.m. after a person reported a man lying in the middle of the road.

Upon arrival, police found that Travis' 1998 Pontiac Trans Am had driven off the road and crashed into barricades that were located in a construction zone.

In addition to the suspected DWI, Travis was charged with "retaliation" because he threatened to shoot and kill the troopers after he was placed inside the cop car, the Grayson County Sheriff's office told TMZ.

He is currently in police custody.

Tuesday's incident marks the second time the singer was arrested this year alone.

In February, Travis was arrested in Texas on suspicion of public intoxication after police found him sitting inside his car in front of a church with an open bottle of wine and smelling like alcohol

His car is 14 years old??? He guzzles wine while driving nude?? He's a heavy duty Christian. That can cause a lot of stress I'm sure.

He always struck me as someone who walked very light in his cowboy boots.

What's wrong with that? I wouldn't buy a new car, including the ones from the 1990s. I only like the vehicles made before 1980. To me, an ugly car/truck from that time looks better than a so-called good looking modern one, which all look alike, made out of plastic, and have electronic junk (ie. GPS) on it. lol

You can say that about a lot of new things, even some recent built houses. Antiques usually are better made.

You know, Randy Travis' career in country music has not been the same since Garth Brooks & Shania Twain change the game back in the 1990's.

Just saying.

Sad. And he looks really mad. I hope he gets some help or love or support or whatever he needs.

He's one of the most effortless singers I've ever heard.

I don't know much about Randy but my mother was a pretty big fan so I've heard a fair bit of his music . He always struck me as being a very humble and polite person, very simple and not hung up on being a star. It is definitely strange to read things like this about him.

He's got problems. This is not the first time.

Maybe his career is not what it was, but I think that has as much to do with him as it does to do with show biz. Country is a genre that respects its elders. I think he has willingly disappeared.

Is he? I haven't really seen him in anything. But that doesn't mean he is not (he could be touring, too, for all I know)
