Awww man... Hard question... I love(d) them both. If I had to choose I'd say George Michael.
I don't like comparing artist though. I like them both for different reasons. They both can sing. I guess it just depends on which George I'm in the mood for. LOL!!! With that said, I'm always in the mood to listen to George Michael. Remember when u told me that love was touching souls?
Well, surely u touched mine. O{+>

George Michael by far. And George Michael today can still do good stuff. Boy George is just a total mess now vocally. George Michael plays several instruments and wrote all the songs by himself with little input from Andrew Ridgely. Whereas, Boy George mostly just wrote lyrics and maybe a little bit of the melody. Most of the actual music of his hits were actually done by the other members of Culture Club which they were never given credit for. Boy George was more a figurehead and media celebrity with a good voice, but he wasn't an all around musician and songwriter.

George Michael, easily.
Boy George was great fun, and some of his music was pretty good. Unfortunately, he pigeon-holed himself into a novelty act early on the same way Cyndi Lauper did, and never really pulled himself out of it during the years anyone would have cared.

I have Culture Club's records and the whole group is listed in the songwriting credits. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

I know they were given credit on the records, but I meant in the eyes of the general public and the media. Most people think George is Culture Club and the others did nothing and were worthless. Even George always says he wrote everything himself and the others didn't deserve an equal share of the royalties, but that is not true at all. They did it together, but most people just see George. People don't even say the words Culture Club, they always just say Boy George and act like the others were nothing.

That's more like people on Youtube posting songs with Michael Jackson involvement, no matter how insignificant it is, like State Of Independence, and putting his name on the video instead of Donna Summer's. People say that the other brothers in the J5/Jacksons are not important and have no talent. Some people think Genesis is Phil Collins' backup group and that Jay Kay is Jamiroquai and Sade is a solo singer and don't know they're bands. Lead singers are generally given the focus. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Yes, that's true. But I think it says a lot that Boy George has never had much solo success certainly nothing like George Michael so he didn't do it all or even as much as some of those other singers you name. Michael Jackson and Phil Collins had tons of solo success. Boy George doesn't play an instrument and he doesn't even care that much about what goes on in the studio. His main concern is throwing out bitchy one liners and changing his makeup. But people think he is this great songwriter when in actuality he doesn't do that much. Boy George to me is one of the most overrated overhyped artists in the history of the music business.

i thought George had a level of depth that Boy never demonstrated. don't have any CC records, so there may be something i missed that wasn't a single, but where's his Praying for Time, or Hand to Mouth etc.? George easily for me, though i stopped listening a long time ago

You're kidding right??
I'm not saying Boy George doesn't have talent, but he's not even close to the talent of GM.

George Michael by a landslide....

Boy George, as part of Culture Club of course, had much better songs than George Michael with or without Wham.

Interesting comparison, if only for the quality of their voices.
But for music, I only like a couple Culture Club songs, and GM has quite a few I think are really good. He is by far the superior musician/producer/songwriter/performer My Legacy

GM by far. Maybe his Wham songs were cheesy, but his solo material is really on a level Boy George never reached. I like Jesus loves you though, but still, not the same level.
GM is for me almost on the same level as Prince...so.....

George Michael by far!!!!! George wrote and produced all is own music with little to no outside help. And let's not forget his voice. I still get chills from it. Boy George kinda died by the time the 90's rolled in but George still stayed strong an released one of my favorite albums by him (Older) and an album I'm not a big fan of but many people love to death (Prejudice)

I've always been a fan of Culture Club as a band, however because of Boy George's visibility, people overlook how good they were as a band. Mikey Craig's bass playing, Jon Moss' drumming, Helen Terry on vocals (in their heyday)-- all the ingredients worked together and they sounded great in concert as well.
As a solo artist, George Michael has maintained a more consistent level of quality over the years, while Boy George has been erratic. I saw George Michael in concert in 2008, and he still sounded as good vocally as he did in the 80s.

They are completely different to me, but had beautiful voices at their peak....I think I like more george michael/wham songs though culture club's best songs were brilliant and right up there with my favourites of all time.

I agree CC was great as a band and everything worked together. George has never been able to acknowledge the others as a band or that the others had talent. He always puts them down. He arrogantly believes it was all him that made them a success. He always criticizes the others and says they are lousy musicians. I agree about GM as a solo artist. GM has retained his voice but Boy George destroyed his. The difference is GM is a decent person and has some kind of humility and gratitude, Boy George is just arrogant idiot who is stuck on himself.

I love Culture Club but this isn't even almost close... George Michael is a better musician, songwriter, performer... not even in the same universe.

And these are songs he wrote by himself...there are also a lot of amazing covers... case closed

Those two aren't even in the same league. George Michael by far is and was better than Boy George. Though I'm not knocking Boy George, he used to could sing the hell out of a song..but overall I just think that George Michael has more talent. I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Damn good question, Fury.
My vote goes to George Micheal. With OR without Wham!, George is a very good vocalist. As an entertainer, I think he tone it down a bit as he gotten older.
