My husband Ron turned me on to this a few years ago. I think it's a great novelty record. And if I may be so bold to say...probably the first rap song. I can hear Eminem doing a cover of this. If it breaks when it bends, U better not put it in! | |

The oldies station used to play this a lot. As far as rap goes, there's many songs before this that could be considered proto-rap. Shirley Ellis' Name Game is one. I read once that there was a straight take of Dog. The released version is the first take. They thought the song was stupid, so just started goofing in the studio.
