1993: accusations or death I can never pose this question on an mj board cause it's too sensitive for many, and I think here there is a good mix of huge fans and casual fans, so I'm interested in the responses.
I do not wish death on anyone, but if mj had died in 1993 instead of being accused, how would things have been? For him? For his legacy? Releases? Sure he wouldn't have had kids and I'm so glad he had them and was around to continue making great music and I think defending him became a part of the package though I really hated that aspect of it, but some kind of compassion came out of it too and I didn't realize it until around the time of his death.
And going back to music, would the industry have been different or not as a result? [Edited 8/22/12 8:42am]

The allegations were the only thing that ever held him back. If they never came about there'd be two statues of him in Congress.
You couldn't say anything about him.
