Los Angeles (CNN) -- A missing person's report was filed Saturday night for Katherine Jackson, the mother of pop icon Michael Jackson, after her grandchildren were unable to get in touch with her for a week.

The 82-year-old matriarch of the Jackson music family left her Calabasas, California, home on July 15, to fly to Albuquerque, New Mexico, to attend a Jackson brothers concert two days later, said Jackson's lawyer Sandra Ribera.

Traveling with her was her oldest daughter Rebbie Jackson.

Ribera believes Jackson may be with Rebbie Jackson.

But when Paris, Michael Jackson's 14-year-old daughter, called Rebbie Jackson and another aunt, singer Janet Jackson, over the past several days, she was told each time she could not speak to her, Ribera said.

"The kids were trying to get a hold of their grandmother and they haven't been able to reach her for almost a week," Ribera said. "They are told she's unavailable."

"I'm concerned that she's not safe," Ribera added.

Jackson is in the midst of a dispute between several of her children and her advisers over her finances and legal affairs.

CNN reached out to Janet Jackson's representatives several times but did not hear back.

Jackson has not called Michael Jackson's three children, who have lived with her since their father died three years ago, Ribera said.

Katherine Jackson "has never gone 24 hours without talking to her kids," she said.

"I'm concerned that she would never do this," Ribera said. "We have no idea what's going on with her. No one has talked to her."

The sheriff's robbery-homicide unit has been asked to investigate, Ribera said.

OMG, I'm ready to cry. We have to pray for her. Even if she's safe, she may not be emotionally at her best right now. If anything happens to her, I don't think I can enjoy the rest of the family other than michael anymore. This letter is going to kill her :*(

My opinion: If she was okay, then she wouldve told whoever is watching the kids. Maybe she did have the stroke.

If she did, then did Paris write the message out of denial? I don't think she had it, but if she's ill or if it's true, I would not be surprised. She was sad in interviews even a year after the death, but she was bursting into tears a lot in them this year, and I can tell it's not going to get better. Damn Murray!

I'll just say that some of my relatives that have exactly the same amount of siblings as the Jacksons cause so many problems! And some of them have lied about illness for attention too, including to me. And when other relatives would phone me to ask if it's true, I set them straight on that shit cause I knew the crap some of them pulled before. So if they were lying, I would not be surprised though I believe it's sick behaivour.

Unbelievable, right? I don't even know what to say.

I had plans to have an mj marathon with a fan-friend, we kept putting it off for the past 2 years cause we were so busy and live an hour away from one another. Now I won't be able to sleep and if something happens, I will not be in the mood.

That's not why I'm sad though, but it's like, holy shit! I'm worried about Paris too now, she's talking too much on Twitter though it's good we know this info.

I think the family is fueling the situation, as usual. Work on the audience.
Older people can sometimes get lost, but Catherine always walks with security guards and a driver.
Grandma Katherine feels fine and not missing, IMHO.

It seems to me, that Paris is making everything ten times worse, because of her selfish and attention seeking behaviour. Which in turn, has caused MJ stans to jump to wrong conclusions, who are also making everything worse - by stressing up Katherine's immediate family members and most likely, Katherine herself.

Trent Jackson and Lowell Henry are the ones who are being manipulative. Randy Tweeted about them over a year ago, saying they had selfish ambitions and motives. But the ones who are actually trying to help; the one's who really care, are the ones being blamed.

Once again, MJ fans believe what they want, and also help feed the media with the 'Jacksons want to steal MJ's money' crap.

I really hope Katherine feels better, because it would be desvastating for the kids if something happened to her. It's strange she hasnt contacted the kids though, after all she's their guardian.... very sad!
