Damn, Angie be churning out them albums like clockwork doesn't she? Can't be mad at that, just shows she extremely hard working.

Can't say I'm too crazy about this new single, but I do love her new look. Especially feeling the white ensemble she's wearing in the video with the turquoise jewelry. nod

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

I'm glad she's back, her last album Unexpected was 3 years ago. But, the first single is ok to me- but feels like I've heard it before. I'll still check out the album.

Her last album was 3 years ago? Wow, time must fly. It feels like she put it out last year or something.

I'm just glad she left Stax Records. Like Lalah's Stax discs, Angie's work with them left me feeling a bit apathetic. Hopefully, she will get back to basics with a new label and all.

Angie Stone Talks Rich Girl

July 2012

Angie Stone will release a brand new album this fall. Her camp made the official announcement this week, revealing that the set, titled Rich Girl, is scheduled to arrive in stores on September 25.

The first single from the album is Angie's latest hit, "Do What U Gotta Do," which was written by Sunday Best season two winner Y’anna Crawley. Angie says in a statement that she knew "off the bat" that the song was for her. "It was speaking to my spirit, it resolved some situations about music I had in my mind," Angie says. "It was telling me to keep my head up, saying 'you can make it and do what you gotta do,' giving me the beginning of the new album and the resolve to make it into something beyond anything I had ever done before."

A video for "Do What U Gotta Do," was released earlier this month.

Rich Girl is Angie's sixth studio album. It's the follow-up to 2009's Unexpected.

Y'all notice that the furor over her baby daddy has died down on this

fairweather forum?

She's boring, guys, that's why she's not as big as a Jill Scott or Erykah

Badu.

Her creatiive gifts are on par with Jill and Erykah. I think she needs to make more strenuous efforts to promote her work.

I like the new Angie single a lot. This isn't about her baby daddy

or Jill Scott or Erykah Badu. I like Angie's music for Angie. I could care less how

she's percieved or compared to Jill or Erykah. I only own one Erykah cd so different

strokes for different folks. I dig pretty much all of Angie's cd's. I didn't really get

into Unexpected but The Love Of Art and War was good.

I agree. Angie is underrated. She has a very soulful old school style voice and makes pretty good music. I think it has mostly to do with image which is why she cant get that extra push and label support.

Angie Stone Finds Her Voice Again with Rich Girl

August 21, 2012

Contrary to what the title might imply, Angie Stone's new album Rich Girl isn't about money. No, "it's about being rich in everything you do, in your spirit, your purpose and your giving to others," Angie says in a statement about the set, due out on September 25.

"I wrote this album from a real place," Angie explains. "And because I was able to really write for, and in, my own voice this time, I could really sing these new songs with authenticity, something I haven’t been able to do in a long time."

Angie says that after years of working with other people, she one day realized, "I was losing pieces of myself in the process. I shaved a lot of my originality off when merging with so many other people. Fans weren’t getting Angie Stone. They were getting Angie and so-and-so."

Angie says that she had to get back to her own music and skills. "It's time for Angie to do Angie," she says.
