This is the kind of album you need to hear a couple of times to let it sink in. Musically there's nothing really new here, but Bobs band is in great shape.Duquesne Wistle swings like hell and the rest of the songs seem to be obsessed with death and destruction. Narrow Way and Early Roman Kings are playing the blues the Dylan way. Tin Angel, one of the highlights, is a haunting story about a love triangle that ends in murder. Also good are Pay in Blood and Scarlet Town-another haunting plac Tempest, the sea shanty about the Titanic, is at 13+ minutes a little too long. The John Lennon tribute is beautiful. Dylan fans are gonna love this

^And he keeps playing it! Let me just add that I think the best decision Bob made as a musician is producing his own records with his own band. I think that's the reason his 80s and 90s albums were disappointing: nameless session players and ever-changing producers. So let's hear it for his band!

I'll definately be checking this one out, sounds promising!. Strangely, although i do love all his well known classic albums, Street Legal's probably my favorite Dylan album. We're here, might as well get into it.

good, good
I dig Dylan's late-career albums, specially Modern Times and Love&Theft (Together Through Life left me cold, though)
that cover is bizarre though, yellow Times new Roman?? 80s-like red neon? a pic of Pallas Athene?? OK.,..

Listening to bits and pieces of this album, sounds pretty good, very much cut from the same cloth as his last 4 or 5 releases. Don't know if it's quite up there with Time Out of Mind and Modern Times though, haven't heard anything that has really knocked me out like a few songs from those albums did... We're here, might as well get into it.

It's ok - his croak is froggier than ever. I really like "long and wasted years" however

It IS that good. | |

With Time Out of Mind?! Or even Love & Theft?! Not a chance, IMO. But it's Dylan, so it's pretty dammed good.
