Get Your Pharrell Fix Here! Just thought I'd show a little love for the suaevest, abundantly talented, never aging producer who is making somewhat of a comeback by working on Frank Ocean's latest magnum opus, bringing out Lisa Stansfield reduxer Leah Labelle, and playing a major part in bringing the hilarious "Awkward Black Girl" to a wider audience.
This interview was done when Pharrell was tapped to be the musical director of The Oscars. He's been very busy in Hollywood, producing both the "Dispicable Me" and "Drive" soundtracks.
Looks! Talent! It's so unfair:

Pharrell is a dope ass dude. But what happened to the Neptunes, you wanna be beat-makers and bedroom-producers take heed:
If you create a dope ass sound that everyone wants for a hit single, say NO and that way, you'll never get played out. The Neptunes were all over the radio. And then the copy cats came and then we all got tired of the Neptunes sound and now you don't hear them anymore. Protect your sound and only let a few dudes rock 'em.
Thus saith the Lawd,

I am bookmarking this for later watching!!!
I love their sound..but mostly when it is on r&b / pop tracks. Pharrell rapping....is very hit or miss and he is better when making melodic music instead of hip hop in my opinion. Straight Jacket Funk Affair
Album plays and love for vinyl records. | |
