why r styles of music defined by race?
when u look at artist like prince, me'shell, seal,
lenny the list goes on. i've heard black artist talk about the reason the don't don't played on black radio is because their music isn't black - huh?
the wake up every morning black!
if u want some examples of this strange industry

and yes there is a Prince reffernce in the song.

come on guys. Stop being lazy and just look up the history of music in this country. There's not great conspiracy. We have to stop thinking that things that happened 40, 50 or even 60 years ago still don't have an effect today.

Music was divided by the artist who sang it. This is why Elvis' Hound dog was played on the radio and the original by the black artist wasn't played on "white radio"(i think was by Fats Domino). Pat Boone made Tutti Frutti and of course the original was by Little Richard. It goes on and on. Music mad by black artists was called race records and was completely put on a separate station, etc.


In the 60's that changed of course with Motown but the categories are still around.

It was Big Momma Thornton. Written for her by Lieber & Stoller.

Her version sold 2 million copies, but she says she only got something like $200 for it.

Well u're probably right.. but just like age is just a number.. I think skin is just a colour!.. Some white people dig' black music and the other way around..
