Come rain come shine... post your favorite weather songs

Good memories when playing this mellow groove and her debut album, during road trips on a holiday in Andalusia, Spain.

Wonderful and atmospheric slowjam from their second album, "So Where Are You?". "Hanging On A String" with the hypnotizing intro was getting major club play at that time as well.

Gino, Joe and Ross Vanelli's orchestrated arrangements and compositions are an adventure in itself. Most of the time when i listen to one of Gino's albums, i go through all tracks in one session without any skipping, because it feels to me like reading a book. The audio of "Storm At Sunup" sounds somewhat distorted on my pc. Too bad that there's not a hq upload yet.

Great appearances in the 70s on Soul Train and on the German tv show MusikLaden in 1982. Again, the sound on the MusikLaden video is distorted unfortunately, because the staccato horn section riffs are ear candy to hear with good audio. And as the late Donny Cornelius asks the Soul Train crowd: "How 'bout it gang?...Kool & the Gang" ...do yer thang gang cool

Laidback jam from ex-Miracles singer Billy Griffin. His brother, guitarist Donald Griffin can be heard at the intro and throughout the song. Donald was at the time part of the group Madagascar who also feature as rhythm section on this debut solo album of Billy, and the group included singer Marva King (Prince's NPG, Answered Questions), session saxophonist/bassist Gerald Albright, trumpeter Ray Brown (EW&F's 2nd horn section), session keyboardist/producer John Barnes and drummer Ed Greene. Donald and Gerald performed about 4 years later with Anita Baker's Rapture Tour.

Although not directly a weather song, here a slamjam from Jeff's first solo direction after a series of great albums with his group the Jeff Lorber Fusion. Session cats on this album include:

This isn't a weather song but I tend to think of it and play it often on beautiful bright sunny days. sun

I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton
