Is This Song A Perfect Representation Of 80's Music?

To me this song is a perfect representation of the 80's, the song speaks of people building unnatural war machine and it has a lot of the fear of the cold war economics pressures that where going on mid 80's. So it is a 80's subject but can stil be just as relevant today.

The synth parts mixed with a guitar solo and drums show a bit of the british new wave but also rock n roll and pop. And the music video seemed ot have little do witht he song's like a lot of 80's videos lol

But idk that is just my opinion.. what do you guys and gals think?

Pistols sounded like "Fuck off," wheras The Clash sounded like "Fuck Off, but here's why.."- Thedigitialgardener

All music is shit music and no music is real- gunsnhalen

TFF is my favorite band, so I'm biased...

When I hear it, it takes me back to high school. biggrin

This is one of the songs that is usually included in 80s compilations...

For the most part, I agree with your assessment:

The synth parts mixed with a guitar solo and drums show a bit of the british new wave but also rock n roll and pop.

But

And the music video seemed to have little do with the song's like a lot of 80's videos

doesn't really apply as typical 80s... What do half-dressed girls shaking their butts around cars, in clubs, randomly... have to do with most songs today? lol

And remember, the 80s was also a time when a lot of the songs were just about partying and having fun, so it's hard to pick out one central theme.

"Love Hurts.
Your lies, they cut me.
Now your words don't mean a thing.
I don't give a damn if you ever loved me..."

It's got one of my favorite guitar solos, but I don't think it's the perfect representation of 80's music.

There probably is no such song, but here's the one that started the British New Wave invasion, which kind of led to most of the stuff we heard in the 80's:
