I never watched The Game. Is it really all that?

I like it.

It's soap opera but it's highly watchable.

It's very nitty-gritty and awesomely filmed.

Are ya'll still upset with the Michael tribute?

C'mon ya'll they only had like 2 days to put it together.

Its ridiculous that hot ghetto mess shit they did for MICHAEL JACKSON the greatest pop star of all time. They could of had other better performers but nooo they had bullshit there and then that Cricket Jamie Foxx saying jokes in the beginning, fuck BET

eek Wow, was it really that bad? Glad I missed it! I was too devastated after 6/25 to watch any TV, I kept it on the Hallmark Channel 24/7 sad But sounds like the MJ EBT tribute was a real hot mess disbelief sigh oh EBT...no no no! But I'm glad the Whitney tribute was beautiful, sounds like it was really moving. I didnt see it, but hopefully it will get uploaded to Youtube and posted in this thread! smile

I know but BET is trying to reach a mass audience.

BET is trying to exploit black people and cater to whatever is popular for ratings, stop making excuses for them..

Exactly! Some of us were there from the beginning of the network and remember what the mission was supposed to be. I know I'm ony 36, but I can remember the early days of BET. BET is about making money at any cost.

And I'm not a fan of Deborah Lee. This is coming from someone who works in the media. I've worked for Viacom before.

lowkey

whitney tribute was great, frankie beverly had me jamming (love them). dont know what yall see in dangelo, he still looks crackish to me and spent 10 boring minutes on stage singing some song i never heard (couldnt understand why they was hyping his return so much). whoever keeps inviting nicki minaj to this thing needs to be fired, she's terrible and does the same thing every year. all the rappers look and sound the same, usher is boring now, i never seen them give a director of the year award but i guess since beyonce's sister's boyfriend directed her video they had to create a new category.

Chante` Moore was good tributing Donna Summer; Joe Thomas, Tyrese Gibson & Faith Evans were good saluting Maze featuring Frankie Beverly. D'Angelo was good and funky. Chaka Khan looked good, but something about her vocals were a bit pitchey as usual live. Brandy Norwood surprised me with her moving about for a change. I think Cissy Houston is overrated as a singer - her best-ever moment was the high woops on Aretha Franklin's "Ain't No Way" in 1968.

All of the rap shit was whack as fu*k. Why do they get on tv looking a mess, and do explicit versions of their songs that have to be bleeped out? All of that self-disrespecting sagging. Yuck!

Chris Brown is the most wretched piece of shit ever! He looks a hot mess, like he is on crack and with that deformed lurching forward neck of his. Auto-tune sap sucker.

The realest moment was Soulja Boy crying while Cissy was singing "Bridge Over Troubled Water".

Mixed bag in all.

Shes no better than the ghetto fools that attend this fuckery, just a HOT MESS. disbelief

One of the MAJOR problems that BET has is the HEAD FOLKS upstairs. They NEED REPLACEMENTS ASAP!

You know I think I need to agree with you on this and I have a question about her too. Why the hell does she alsways go on stage half way through the show? I don't think i've ever seen the president of MTV or the president of the Grammy's go on stage during a show to get some shine? WTH? Also I just want to say IMO, D'angelo stole the show. He was the best entertainer of the night hands down and i'm not even a fan. One last thing, was Rick Ross seriously singing a song about David Copperfield? WTF?! eek Seriously? Did I hear that correctly? Am I the only person who finds that bizzare? Shit, maybe David Copperfield should have come out on stage and dropped a few bars!

Hit it right on the head. Something happened when that happened. lol

What happened is that he never really grieved her death and as a result, he suppressed it and went nuts. I think Kanye is talented and I'm a fan even though most of the time he seems lost and talks himself into oblivion. The one thing I can respect about him is that he's not like anyone else. But the whole him and Kim relationship thing is equivalent to when Diddy was dating Jennifer Lopez.

[Edited 7/1/12 19:41pm]

I could not have said it better, myself, Missfee!! His mother was his rock, is point of stability. When she passed, he lost it and lost a piece of him. Because he is in the public eye he could not really grieve, which made it worse. I don't wanna be around, the day that he REALLY crashes. It will be a mess.

Plus, I think he had a breakdown when that model he was engaged to called the wedding off, right after the death of his mother. Just a sad story. Kanye has always had an ego about him, but the arrogance has increased at an all-new high.

You said it. He don't see nothing in Kim but publicity at the moment. I think Kanye knows his music lately has been waning to the side rails and needs Kim to kind of plop him up in the media...for now. Until he makes relevant music again. A blind man can clearly see the disconnection of chemistry between him and Kim, so it's not going to last very long. You can see the discomfort all over Kim's face as well. Even though I don't care for Bey, you can see that there is chemistry there between her and Jay. They don't even be all hugged up on each other or constantly PDA-ing at all, but you can tell that they are comfy with each other.

It's like they had no respect or regard for the other people there. They probably didn't understand that Yoland was talking to them directly. I just sighed when I saw half the audience sitting down for D'Angelo, and all of them standing up for MMG. neutral

Well said! Kanye hasn't really been of interest to me honestly since 2007. I think there has been a definite change in him, where he is more interested in forcing everyone to adore him, instead of making music that mattered. I don't know how I feel about him anymore.

You aren't alone. Even though I'm a fan of his, sometimes I'm really on the fence about him. For some reason, I wasn't feeling "The Throne" enough to purchase it. I heard the snippets and some songs are okay (I actually do like "No church in the wild") but it just didn't grab me enough to buy the whole album. Not like his first few efforts did, I mean I literally ran on my lunch break to buy his cd's the first day they came out...now it's like bored. I think what he really needs is a break, a vacation, maybe 6 months to a year for him to really sit down, calm down, and come back to the creative place he was at when he released his first few albums....BUT I think he's afraid to take a break, honestly. He's had many chances to do just that, but chose not to. Just my take on it.
