Most networks have been out decades before BET even existed. I know BET has been on for a long time but I'm gonna say it anyway; Give it time.

It's been 32 years for BET and they still regress. TV ONE and Centric do it a lot better and have only been around for less than a decade.

I'm just not that quick to banish things to non-existence and then we're left with nothing.

I was listening to Tom Joyner once and this guy was on talking about how the Blaxploitation movement was derided and cut short by the black community and he felt that it was this that set black cinema back so far. His point was you gotta start somewhere, and if the movement is allowed to grow you could develop better art and an actual industry.
