It's been a boring year for popular music to me; most of my favorites so far are things I've found on Bandcamp and in Timmy's new music thread.. even then, the best stuff was from last year. There's still many album I've yet to hear that I'm interested in, but some of my favorites so far:

This is the only album that I've bought that is a new music release, and not old albums.
A CD came with this, but I haven't listened to it, since it's just the audio of some songs from the DVD:

The album I loved this year the MOST actually came out in 2011 and quickly ran out of copies.
I see they are currently out of copies of the 2012 re-stock

The Pierces album was released in the U.K. last year then finally in the states this past March. Regina's new album is currently #11 on my list. That could change with more listens. | |

4. The Mars Volta - Noctourniquet
5. Santigold - Mystery of My Make-Believe
