Anybody into Devin Townsend's music? He is a Canadian multi-instrumentalist mostly doing heavy / industrial metal music.
For those who do not know, I would recommend Terria (his best album imho). As stated in wikipedia a "highly illustrated stream-of-consciousness, melodic and atmospheric". But still it is metal and kind of heavy.
My favorite song is "Canada", very heavy and slow tempo at the same time. www.youtube.com/watch?v=9kNaJ3WN1DE
It really changed my approach of music since I have started to listen to his songs. I even tunned down my guitar to Open C and start to play those dreamy chords / melody. It is a bit like playing piano in fact.
any fan around ?

I liked when Devin was working with Steve Vai.

Like carlcranshaw, I dug the stuff he did with Vai. The stuff he did with Strapping Young Lad is cool too. He has a set of pipes on him.

Oh heck yeah, devin is the shi*. He's kinda like the prince of metal. He plays drums, guitar, bass, ect. He came up with most of the music with Strapping Young Lad. The Devin Townshend Project stuff is cool as well. His music has always been kinda out there but the guy has talent. I would like to hear him and Buckethead do something together. Rest in Peace Bettie Boo. See u soon.
