Mariah Debuts New Song At Fundraiser
June 15, 2012
Mariah Carey debuted a new song during her performance at a swanky fundraiser for President Barack Obama in New York City Thursday night.
Mariah tweeted fans on Thursday that she had "Just finished performing Hero, We Belong Together and ''Bring it In Home''- a song I wrote especially for the event."
She noted that she wished she could release the song before tweeting what presumably are some of the tune's lyrics, "Strength is what we need and love keeps us alive..." as well as a picture of herself in a black gown. A video snippet of the performance was posted to YouTube by one attendee.
The 250-person dinner at New York's Plaza also featured an appearance by first lady Michelle Obama and comments from Alicia Keys, the Huffington Post reports, and raised at least $2.5 million for the president's campaign.
According to a tweet from the "Team Mariah" official account, the singer wore a Vera Wang gown and earned a standing ovation for her performance. | |

Too bad the person who recorded this didn't have good quality audio. I couldn't understand a word she was singing. But, I could tell she wasn't whispering so that's a good sign. "It's not nice to fuck with K.B.! All you haters will see!" - Kitbradley
