I disagree. Grace is known for many things and being a singer is just apart of it. She started as a model, but she's famous for both singing, being a muse, and acting too. Given that most of her fame is either underground and/or European based, it's quite possible that she could have remained famous while not having the world's best voice. Europe is full of tons of examples of this kind of "general" fame...Jane Birkin and Vanessa Paradis off the top of my head.

She could've remained famous with a so-so voice, yes, to a certain extent she has to many people, but she does still have a career outside of her notoriety.

She's not just wheeled out for chat shows or reality shows: people want to see her perform and in doing so, want to hear her sing

She's far from Grace 'The Voice' Jones but she's not all style over substance either...

Grace Jones is the defintion of someone makes something their own. She may not have that convenctional talent but she is so smart and intelligent in making her style connect wth her voice in music. Grace Jones is a rarity because she is not exactly manufactured she is truly an artist who works and breathes on what she does.

Most pop artists reinvent themselves but only can tell that they have to keep themselves relevant like Madonna, Rihanna, Christina Aguilera and Lady Gaga.

Grace on the other hand is not just a musician but she is also a performance artist. Her music refelcts onhow she is because most of her music is experimental and out of the box.
