Sheryl Crow, Brain Tumor: Singer Reveals Memory Problems Due to Benign Growth

Bryan Steffy, WireImage If you've seen Sheryl Crow in concert lately, she may have forgotten the lyrics to hit or two, and then laughed it off. But the songstress has revealed that her recent memory loss is the product of a medical condition. Although, the songstress -- who was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2006 -- promises, it's nothing to get worked up about.

"I haven't really talked about it," she revealed to the Las Vegas Review-Journal newspaper. "In November, I found out I have a brain tumor. But it's benign, so I don't have to worry about it. But it gives me a fit."

The 'fit' to which Sheryl is referring comes in the form of memory problems. The article cites an instance at a concert nearly a month ago in Florida, where she forgot part of her classic hit, "Soak Up the Sun." She brushed it off and told concert goers, "I'm 50, what can I say? My brain's gone to (expletive)."

Such cognitive issues are actually what prompted Sheryl, who's been cancer-free for more than five years, to seek medical help. "I worried about my memory so much that I went and got an MRI," the songstress recalls. "I found out I have a brain tumor, and I was like, 'See? I knew there was something wrong.'"

More than six months later, the tumor hasn't had much effect on her life. She's still performing five to six times a month, and even working on a new album, which is slated for an October release.

"I don't even have a record deal," Sheryl admitted, before adding, "I probably will sign a record deal, though. I like the opportunity to be on radio."

Seems like shes doing okay, both her and her rep played it down for the most part. I know she doesn't get alot of love on the org, but I like most of her discography, except for that album bout lance armstrong, and look forward to new music and a speedy recovery.
