1. Velvet Rope- Best one yet. Great tracks and vibe

2. janet. - very close second to Velvet

3. Rhythm Nation- VERY entertaining.

4. Disipline- impressive for being a pop star for more than 20 years. If only MJs last album Invincible was as popular (even though the two albums are almost a decade a part)

5. All for you- Title track and a few other gems

6. Control

7. 20 Y.O.

8.Damita Jo- eh, so-so

9. Dream Street- Only know "Don't STand Another Chance"

10. Janet JAckson- don't know the album at all so its at the bottom

I love that song "Nothing" from Why Did I Get Married Too. "Make Me" from Number Ones didn't do much for me. I read True You. I will keep checking for her. nod

One of my FAVORITE ballads from her. Emotional. It sounds kind of like the 2010 version of "Again"

I hope when she comes back and performs again, I'll get to hear it.

I bought that Icon CD just for it, and still return to it.

Same here. I wish she had made room for it on Number Ones

Number Ones new song was "Make Me" and that was September 2009. "Nothing" was almost a half year later, March 2010. Otherwise, I'm sure she would have! It's outstanding.

Ouch, you don't even rate Damita Jo, 20 YO, or Discipline but found a place for two remix albums.

Why the 20YO hate? Ok the singles, videos and title/theme of the album were really poor but the album had some great gems.

- 'Take Care' - BY FAR her best baby making song since 'Rope Burn'

- 'Enjoy' - One of her most uplifting tracks ever - beats everything from her first two albums.

- 'With you' - superior than all the ballads on 'Discipline'

- ' Do it to me' and 'Get it out me' - dance floor bangers without the cheese of 'come on get up' and '2nite'

- unreleased tracks were a treat - 'Roll withchu' (one of best songs period - should have made the album) and 'Days go by' was sooooo sweet.

I think some people should give it a re-listen and try not to be influenced by the media's perception of the album. I'd say it was more coherent than 'Discipline' and 'All for you'

"Take Care," "Enjoy," and "With You" are good songs (as well as "Daybreak," which you didn't mention). Everything else is a steaming pile of poo IMO. 20 Y.O. is exactly the opposite of coherent.

I do agree about "Roll Witchu" though. If that song, "Days Go By," and "Weekend" replaced some of the clunkers and the interludes were scrapped, I'd like the album a lot more.

‘Show me’, ‘Get it out me’ and ‘Do it to me’ – were solid R&B tracks

I always imagine the video for ‘Get it to me’ being a bit like Liberian Girl – her dancers and celeb friends in a club wondering where Janet is – even some of them emulating her famous moves - then she appears at the end doing an amazing routine during the breakdown. Wishful thinking….

‘Love to Love’ has a Prince-y vibe to it - although not as good as ‘Take care’ it is still is sexy without being too crass.

I love ‘Daybreak’ too but the vocals are a bit painful to listen to at times. It should have definitely been re-recorded.

So all in all I like more songs than dislike. It was an urban / hip hop sounding album which ultimately alienated her pop fans .

Totally agree. I actually think "Get It Out Me" should have been the first single. "Call On Me" being released first (or at all) as a single was a big boo-boo. "Enjoy" and "Take Care" should have been singles as well. I totally don't get the "Weekend" hate, either. The song was what it was--a throwback remake of a classic '80s Debbie Deb freestyle track.

Like a lot of what's been released the last 10 years or so, I don't think "R&B" is quite the right label. I'm a huge fan of R&B. This stuff? Not so much.

Agree! I rated it higher than Discipline for sure, and Discipline ain't all that shabby.

Agree with everything you said.. I LOVED Take Care especially. Enjoy was nice to. Get It Out Me would have been a great lead single

They only released Call On Me as the first single because it featured Nelly on it.
