Only the material Sony has by the artist at the time of its release. For example, the Mariah Carey one doesn't have anything post-Rainbow.

Only the material Sony has by the artist at the time of its release. For example, the Mariah Carey one doesn't have anything post-Rainbow.

Thanks for your answer. Do you also find that of the material that is available at the time of release that the CDs generally include most if not all of the hits? Or is there a lot of "why wasn't such and such on there?"

The material available is usually very well picked. The only one I've noticed that misssed some obvious choices was The Essential Billy Joel
