come on guys. Stop being lazy and just look up the history of music in this country. There's not great conspiracy. We have to stop thinking that things that happened 40, 50 or even 60 years ago still don't have an effect today.
Music was divided by the artist who sang it. This is why Elvis' Hound dog was played on the radio and the original by the black artist wasn't played on "white radio"(i think was by Fats Domino). Pat Boone made Tutti Frutti and of course the original was by Little Richard. It goes on and on. Music mad by black artists was called race records and was completely put on a separate station, etc. In the 60's that changed of course with Motown but the categories are still around.

It was Big Momma Thornton. Written for her by Lieber & Stoller. Her version sold 2 million copies, but she says she only got something like $200 for it. [This message was edited Sun Mar 2 2:28:00 PST 2003 by Supernova] This post not for the wimp contingent. All whiny wusses avert your eyes.

This thread has already been done to death over the past few days. Take a look at the "Is there such thing as black music" thread. "I saw a woman with major Hammer pants on the subway a few weeks ago and totally thought of you." - sextonseven
