"Now I Need You" from Once Upon A Time is one of the trippiest songs I ever heard. It sounds genuinely haunting,as if you're under the influence of something (lol)....the way it segues into "Working The Midnight Shift" is one of disco's finest musical moments.

^ yes, I completely agrees with you SoulAlive.
Side A and B from this 2LP are really strong,
(not saying side C & D are bad, but I can't remember exactly right now).
I -also- like the seagues - the way the songs flows into the next track.
and "Trippy", you are completely right..!
the album's hit song:
"Rumour Has It", this is also very dear to me (from side D, IIRC?)

Donna Summer's Artwork Just Got More Expensive May 29, 2012
While the sales of Donna Summer's music is increasing exponentially, so is the value of her artwork.
In 2003, the singer was commissioned by the Jack Gallery in Las Vegas, Nevada to produce 750 hand-signed prints based on four different art pieces, TMZ reports.
Before the singer lost her battle with lung cancer on May 17, artwork sold at the gallery for $550 each. Now, prices at the art gallery have increased between $100 to $450 for each piece. According to a gallery representative, "prices are determined by availability."
More information about the singer's artwork will be announced. A memorial exhibition is being planned by the gallery for September at one of their various Las Vegas locations.
Meanwhile, the singer's album sales have gone up an amazing 3,277 percent, Nielsen Soundscan reports.
Before Donna passed, the five-time Grammy winner had been working on a new album. No word yet on a date or pricing for any posthumous CD release.

Its very sad, I loved her music and her voice, her songs are timeless classics and now she is gone. Too many of our musical legends are dying. Rest in Peace Donna Summer, I know you will be singing to the heavens and rocking the celestial dance floor now. Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

I heard the vocals were finihed for the album and to expect it by the end of the year. Amazing how she kept all of this quiet.

From whence did you hear such wonderment?

I hope this is true. She was recording 2 albums, wasn't she?
Besides, I guess her vault has as many unreleased tracks as Prince's Hope they release some of this stuff
(I feel a little guilty when I want so, though)

Yes, she was. However, I had not heard that either one was finished. I have heard news about some songs she had recorded with a friend/producer of hers that were done, but I don't think those songs were a part of either 2 albums. Who knows? After Whitney passed, I had thought about Donna's passing and new material or unreleased material getting released. I didn't want to think about that in that kind of context (ie. death). Darn life and its cycle. I did see a post on a fan forum regarding a tweet a family member of Donna's had posted mentioning Donna's legacy she had left behind and how the world has no clue what they are in store for. Sounds interesting. [Edited 5/31/12 3:34am]

Yes, I saw on one of the message boards as well and I believe it might have been a message or tweet from her nephew OmegaRed that all of the vocals were finished for one album. I don't know about the other one. I knew they said she had planned to record and release 2. They stated the vocals were recorded and I guess the mixing etc needed to be completed next.

I love Donna Summer the same way I love Tracy Chapman. Because neither of them had to emphasize their blackness to make their art. I love them because they didn't need to diss another artist to appear in the news (Whitney: "Mariah who...?". Mariah: "I used to listen to Madonna when she was popular..."")
I love Donna because she was an extraordinary human being (the person) who didn't follow the pattern to show their craft. And she will be missed. I already miss her.
I guess times have changed and people don't remember when music was rated as music: not as scandals, news, dissing someone else.
Real artists are missed.

I hope they remaster her albums.Specifically,1978's Live And More.

Madonna herself is the queen of dissing other artists in the public eye, but yeah, I feel you. Donna was just an all-around decent woman. I miss her too, but there's always the music. "Get up off that grey line"

I wish the record companies agreed to release her video material. There's nothing out there, except Live More & Encore from the late 90s "America is a continent..."

^ thanks for posting article. I didn't know Chaka and Donna were associates. Chaka is connected with so many great divas. She is a musical treasure and I am glad we still have her here. I hope we get new music from her soon. "Remember, one man's filler is another man's killer" -- Haystack
