Conya Doss Interview May 20, 2012
There is a lot of passion and soul in Conya Doss' lyrics, voice, sound, life mission and her profession as a teacher.
She is a helper in the classroom as well as on the track. Her new album Pocket Full of Purpose is filled with just that… purpose and responsibility. At a time when we feel soulless, Doss continues to be the beckon of hope for those that seek a healthy remedy to the mundane and repetitive sound of the radio. I had the opportunity to see what Conya Doss was all about. Check it out.
When I was signed, certain things fell by the wayside. Being independent you can control your own creativity. With majors you could be shelved. The positive is that when you’re with a major you have a machine to support you. I don’t like when certain people can directly speak to me when I could have someone speak on my behalf. I don’t like the fact that I have to do my own accounting when I break points down with producers.

Here's more El-P from Cerebus' thread:

I love this thread man. I've tried to do this several times, but only you and a couple other people would respond, then they threads slowly drifted off into the outer reaches of the org ether. Great job with this one.
I would have used this thread for El Producto, but I wanted to post the whole thing and that felt a bit like a thread jacking.

Shit. That's the whole album.

I see. | |

I posted this video before...
But now the whole album has been released, so that makes it new music.
For a limited time it is available on Special Edition CD or Phosporescent Deluxe Vinyl, both with additional 3-track CD ‘Enstrobia EP’. It does this...
Oh yeah...
It's Squarepusher - Ufabalum

Stryper: The Covering
You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

New Last Step (aka Venetian Snares) was released a week or so ago. It's called Sleep.

Man, I want to get the hype surrounding Azaelia Banks, but so far it's not hittin' me.
And Stryper? I mean, STRYPER?! Talk about two oposite pieces of music. But a new Stryper album also reminds me how old I am. Because I actually remember when they first came out.

I can dig it... | |

Tom has released so much great music over the last fifteen years or so. I'd be happy to send you an orgnote with a few suggestions if it's stuff you're not familiar with.
Check this out....

The physical CD I ordered arrived today. The packaging is professional-looking with finely printed notes and a shrink-wrapped case. I shall check out the bonus track in the morning. I love indie artists!
