If only she was credited for writing (and had shares of the publishing). Then she would've been settled for life... lol

Hell, it's a shame this was barely a top 30 hit. To me this song is more important than Billy Jean or Thriller or Bad or Ben or Smooth Criminal. Lyrical wise

I think lyrically This, Man In The Mirror & Earth Song where his best singles:P

TDCAU was a big hit in most countries outside the US.

I was gonna list that song, too; but since we're snubbing "What's Going On", "Imagine" and all the other popular, anthemic ones, I didn't..

Whose version are you referring to, though? 'Cause I only liked Sam Cooke's version.. I don't like that everyone considers it an Otis Redding song.

I don't know why people get influenced by what others put on their list. No one put a gun in someone's head and said "don't put that song in your list". Like the fuck? It's someone's list. People are acting like this thread is a political convention. You guys clown me sometimes. lol Just because I didn't list "What's Going On" don't mean you shouldn't! rolleyes lol

And as for "A Change Is Gonna Come", the song seemed to be more motivated by Sam's own personal struggles, not just racial but also dealing with the death of his son. He recorded "Change" after his son drowned in his pool (Sam was either on the road or recording when Vincent died). Even the lyrics seem to indicate that he was looking for change for himself. I'm guessing like "Someday We'll All Be Free", "Respect" and "Dancing in the Streets", other folks interpolated it as something else entirely. I call "Change" a gospel song.
