Beyonce Knowles wins a journalism award

Is there any honor Beyonce hasn’t received? The multi-talented performer can now add award-winning journalist to her list of accolades.

The New York Association of Black Journalists is paying tribute to Mrs. Jay-Z for an article she wrote called “Eat, Pray Love.” The July 2011 Essence magazine article detailed how a nine-month break changed her life.

“I had talked about taking a vacation before, but always ended up in the studio after two weeks, so no one believed me. This time, though, I was serious. I was going to give myself a year to do the things I never get to do,” Beyonce said in the piece.

“I needed some relaxation, but I wanted inspiration too, from regular everyday things. They did not have to be over-the-top productions. I was looking for tiny moments that would speak to my heart and make me smile,” she added.

Blue Ivy’s mom can add the journalism accomplishment to her Grammys, Golden Globe nominations and MTV Movie Award.

Beyonce joins more than 40 other honorees receiving recognition for writing from the NYABJ. Chapter president Michael Feeney assures it is talent – not celebrity – that earned Beyonce the honor.

“This is one award and I feel strongly that the award was judged on the content and not on her name,” Feeney said. “It wasn’t -- I feel -- given because it was Beyonce. It was given because it was a well written article.”

Feeney said the Dallas-Fort Worth chapter of National Association of Black Journalists judged the entries. The winners were determined prior to Feeney’s tenure, which began in January.

“The awards are for writing,” he said. “If someone does an extraordinary piece of writing and they submit it, it has a chance to win.”

Feeney added that the prize could serve as an inspiration for aspiring, young journalists.

“Beyonce’s a role model. I hope with this honor this will inspire other young girls out there to pick up a pad and paper and maybe pursue a career in journalism,” he said. “If nothing else comes out of this, maybe it will inspire another young girl to write and purse her dreams.”

If she's such a good writer, why can't she write her own songs? hmmm

In that context, I'm willing to believe that the article was ghostwritten by one of her handlers.

Is there any honor Beyonce hasn’t bought? The multi-talented performer can now add award-winning journalist to her list of purchased honors.

The New York Association of Black Journalists is paying tribute to Mrs. Jay-Z for an article some writer wrote called “Eat, Pray Love.” The July 2011 Essence magazine article detailed how a nine-month break changed her life.

“I had talked about taking a vacation before, but always ended up in the studio after two weeks, so no one believed me. This time, though, I was serious. I was going to give myself a year to do the things I never get to do,” "Beyonce" said in the piece.

“I needed some relaxation, but I wanted inspiration too, from regular everyday things. They did not have to be over-the-top productions. I was looking for tiny moments that would speak to my heart and make me smile,” she added.

Blue Ivy’s mom can add this latest honor-for-sale purchase to her bought & paid for Grammys, Golden Globe nominations and MTV Movie Award.

Beyonce joins more than 40 other honorees receiving recognition for writing from the NYABJ. Chapter president Michael Feeney assures that the check cleared, her receipt is in the mail, and that it is money – not celebrity – that earned Beyonce the honor.

“This is one award and I feel strongly that this honor was based on the dollar amount that was given, and not on her name,” Feeney said. “It wasn’t -- I feel -- given because it was Beyonce. It was given because she had all dem dollaz in da bank and dat check didnt bounce, ya feel me dawg?”

Feeney said the Dallas-Fort Worth chapter of National Association of Black Journalists judged the entries. The winners were determined prior to Feeney’s tenure, which began in January.

“The awards are for writing,” he said. “But if someone sends an extraordinary monetary donation along with their piece of writing when they submit it, they have a real good chance to win.”

Feeney added that the prize could serve as an inspiration for aspiring, young journalists and/or people with money.

“Beyonce’s a top money-maker. I hope with this honor this will inspire other young girls out there to pick up the phone and call us to make a sizable donation," he said. “If nothing else comes out of this, maybe it will inspire another young girl to say 'hey, if Beyonce could do it, so can I!'”

An organization bestowed her with an award for mundane musings such as what I've posted below. I ain't mad at her, but...

In Eat, Play, Love Beyonce writes, "I had talked about taking a vacation before, but always ended up in the studio after two weeks, so no one believed me. This time, though, I was serious. I was going to give myself a year to do the things I never get to do."

She continues, "Simple things like play with my nephew, pick him up from school, visit museums, go to concerts, see some Broadway shows, learn to cook a meal and spend time with my husband... Yes, I needed some relaxation, but I wanted inspiration too, from regular everyday things. They did not have to be over-the-top productions. I was looking for tiny moments that would speak to my heart and make me smile."

The title alone made me laugh. Beyonce is not a good writer in any way, shape or form. She often lies and takes credit for songs she didn't write. On top of that has anyone ever heard this woman speak? Her interviews are cringe worthy for the most part. Just look at the letter she wrote to Michelle Obama a few weeks ago. She's very inarticulate. She doesn't come across as intelligent at all. This is a joke.
