Remember This 80's Group? I accidentally came across this forgotten group while I was looking up an old Andre Cymone track and these clips completely took me back. I hate to be nostalgic but those were the days:

Five Star was pretty big. I was not a huge fan of them, but I did like "Let Me Be The One" and "All Fall Down."

Tons of people remember them. They're hardly obscure "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries."

I was [and still is] a big fan. Denise/Deniece was on 'The Voice' (UK) a few weeks ago. Don't know how that's going. I'm not in the UK and I haven't seen or read anything more online about her on the show.

They totally flopped in the Uk after their "rock the world" album (which was alot better then the forgettable "Between the lines"). Infact, I think their self titled 1990 album and "Shine", which were both on CBS/Sony, were not even released in the UK?
I really quite like their "Shine" album. Ian Prince produced most of it. All his work sounds the same but I like the new jack inspired tracks, aswell as the poppier ones.
Jam/Lewis/Janet, eat your heart out.....
Decent rnb track this one.
Pointless trivia: "Come to me" was recorded at Michael Jacksons own studio LOL. [Edited 4/23/12 15:52pm]

5 Star were huge in Britain between 1985 and 1990, just not that big in the states. Probably as their music sounded more American than British, they were all actually siblings, and managed by their control freak father Buster Pearson. Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

No I dont - thank God! The greatest live performer of our times was is and always will be Prince.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

I've heard OF them before, but I don't remember actually HEARING any of their stuff on the radio.
Weird considering I'm an 80s baby who listened to the radio ALOT at the time. 비
