He was extremely popular for as long as I could remember. Things got quiet after 96 though with him in terms of popularity.

But Michael's rep was becoming tarnished deeply after Bad unfortunately. It just seemed that by '93, things were just going downhill. Michael's visibility was intact, true, but confused.

I was talking about the visibility, but he was still popular, even if sales were lower than Thriller, NO ONE sold that much ever.

After BAD and After 93 is different though.

And I agree with Alphastreet. Michaels controversies continued but he was still very popular worldwide from a entertainer standpoint and still achieved tremendous musical success up until 95/96
