OK, here me out. Classic album, we all love it, but wasn't it perfect the first time? Why did he record (in my opinion) inferior retakes of half the album? I heard the "original" versions of "Tangled Up in Blue," "You're a Big Girl Now," "Idiot Wind" and "If You See Her, Say Hello" (on Biograph and The Bootleg Series vols. 1-3) before I heard the album versions so that may be why I prefer them but to my ears they are superior in every way.

I'm hoping that someday we get a reissue of the album as it was originally intended.

Am I crazy or do other people feel like he kind of gilded the lily a bit?

I agree man, that is one of my all time favorite albums. But that is one thing as a Dylan fan you have to hear... he like's ot change shit up. Think of live albums where he totally changed the arrangements of the song.

I much prefer the original to, to the........ whatever you call the others

I would like to see a reissue of all his classic albums, i feel the ones that came out where nothing special.
