The BAD 25 anniversary deluxe edition will feature three CDs and 1 DVD as follows: • The highlight of the package is the DVD of Michael’s legendary July 16, 1988 concert at Wembley Stadium. The concert is not a compilation of performances, but rather one complete show, exactly as Michael performed it for Prince Charles, Princess Diana and the 72,000 fans who were in the audience for that night’s sold out show. This show was one of the record-breaking seven nights played at the venue attended by more than half a million people – three times that many people tried to purchase tickets. The DVD was sourced from Michael Jackson’s personal VHS copy of the performance as shown on the JumboTrons during the concert. This footage was only recently unearthed and is the only known copy of the show to exist. The visuals have been restored and the audio quality enhanced so that fans can share in the excitement of that famous night • A CD of the re-mastered original BAD album • A CD containing previously unreleased material recorded in Michael’s personal studio at Hayvenhurst. This material includes early demo versions of songs from the album as well as demos for songs not included on the final album. All of this material is being released as it was recorded during the BAD sessions. Nothing has been added. In addition, this CD will also include new remixes from internationally renowned DJ/producers • A CD showcasing the audio from the sound truck recordings of the July 16th Wembley performance. The first-ever live Michael Jackson CD to be released, this is the only concert from the BAD Tour known to exist on multitracks This magnificent 3 CD/1 DVD box set will also include two extensive booklets with yet unseen photos from the recording sessions, video sets and the concert tour, the original BAD cover art, a two-sided poster and more. A BAD 25 two CD standard edition featuring the original album plus the CD of demos and new remixes will also be made available as will a stand alone edition of the DVD and a picture disc of the original album. Peter Gabriel's Deluxe So Reissue (September 2012) March 27, 2012
Peter Gabriel has revealed that the planned deluxe reissue of his classic 1986 album So will hit stores in September. According to a post on the former Genesis singer's official website, the collection will be called So 25.1/2.
Back in December, Gabriel posted a video asking fans to submit photos of memorabilia from the So era, written recollections of the time and ideas for how to package the release for possible use in the reissue.
In his most recent monthly video update, Gabriel reveals that a Classic Albums documentary about the making of So also has been produced. He also reports that he has amassed ideas for about 12 songs for his next album.
So features such memorable tunes as "Sledgehammer," "In Your Eyes," "Red Rain" and "Big Time," and has sold more than 5 million copies in the U.S. according to the Record Industry Association of America.
Update: Gabriel will re-release So on September 18 as a single CD, a special edition three-CD set, and a so-called "super deluxe" box set.

I wonder if the Roger Troutman stuff is going to be included on Bad. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

The BAD 25 program kicks off on June 5 when Epic and Legacy reissue the first single from Bad, “I Just Can’t Stop Loving You,” as a CD Single with a previously unreleased bonus track from the Bad sessions, “Don’t Be Messin’ ‘Round (demo).” This will be a Wal-Mart exclusive CD single in the U.S. and will not be available digitally. Three weeks later, on June 26, a replica edition of the original 7″ vinyl of this single with its original B-side “Baby Be Mine” will be made available to the world. The 7″ single edit of the song has only been available on that original 7″ vinyl until now.Nick Ashford was someone I greatly admired, had the honor of knowing, and was the real-life inspiration for Cowboy Curtis' hair. I've come to the conclusion that most reissues/deluxe editions are overkill. I do quite like hearing the b-sides of the era, but do people really need to hear demo's and and acoustic versions of the same songs 2 or 3 times, i find it a bit grating. We're here, might as well get into it.

Do i really need the 7 inch version of,"Bangin' The Boogie" by Rene & Angela ? I think not. They should leave it to b-sides, or just extended remixes(or none at all).

Ditto. It's soooo annoying when u go from the 12" of a hit song to the 7" to a (needless) instrumental version of it!!! Who needs the instrumental anyway unless you're one who sings in the shower or in front of the mirror with your hairbrush as a microphone? Hungry? Just look in the mirror and get fed up.

Yeah. Im rather surprised at the number of people who get excited over 7" Single versions as bonus tracks. I've skipped over several reissues (particularly Deniece Williams') because most of the bonus tracks were single versions and I already own the original pressings. Unless the single version contains different ad-libs from the LP version (which they sometimes do), I have absolutely no use for single versions. If the the only bonus tracks BBR and Funkytown have to work with are 7" versions, I would prefer that those be left off. If I can't get extended versions, I'd just rather have a straight reissue. Sony Japan is reissuing some Norman Connor titles this summer. I'm kinda curious about the "This Is Your Life". The reissue I own (I think from Unidisc) doesn't sound that great. I'm wondering if this will be truely remastered with a crisper, clearer sound? If so, it will would be worth me reinvesting in the Japan edition. It's an amazing album.

If anyone here does order this, please let us know about the sound quality. I'm not sure if there is much anyone can do with any master tapes from Buddah Records. Phyllis Hyman's debut album received it's first reissue through Unidisc and it sounded so flat like the Unidisc reissue of "This Is Your Life". A few years later, The Right Stuff gave Phyllis' debut a stateside reissue with liner notes by David Nathan. I purchased the disc and it turned out the remastering sounded no better than the Unidisc release.
It's going to be interesting to hear what FTG is going to be able to do with some of these upcoming 70's Melba Moore reissues. I believe she recorded several of those albums with Buddah Records. [Edited 5/25/12 17:45pm] "It's not nice to fuck with K.B.! All you haters will see!" - Kitbradley
