The Jacksons: Reunion Tour: Tourdates

Note to Mod: Since Michael Jackson is dead and definitely not a part of this tour and the Jacksons are artists and a band in their own right, this has nothing to do with the MJ sticky. People, who might be interested in the Jacksons, but not in Michael will not go into the MJ sticky, since MJ and the Jacksons are two different things.

To see the previous discussion go here: http://prince.org/msg/8/378752 (<<<copy and paste the link, the fucking board has a bug that will direct you to a wrong thread).

The Jacksons Announce U.S. Tour Dates for Unity Tour 2012

The most legendary family in music history, The Jacksons, will be back on tour together for the first time in nearly three decades with the hotly-anticipated Unity 2012 dates.

Beginning June 18, 2012 and scheduled through July 29, 2012, this extraordinary reunion tour marks the first time siblings Jackie, Jermaine, Marlon and Tito Jackson have toured together since their groundbreaking Victory Tour in 1984.
The Jacksons first achieved international superstardom with their late brother Michael. They were the first group to have their first four singles hit #1 on the Billboard Charts. The Jacksons revolutionized music and pop culture. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997. The Unity Tour 2012 will be yet another milestone for the Jacksons, bringing the most famous family in music back together for a historic series of shows.
“This is a dream coming true,” said Jackie Jackson of the tour. “I can’t believe this is finally happening. There’s nothing like having all the brothers on stage at the same time. This will be exciting for our fans around the world– and I know at each concert, MJ’s spirit will be in the house with us.”
Honoring Michael’s memory and bringing the fans all the timeless hits they know and love is also paramount for Jermaine Jackson. “I am so happy and excited to perform again onstage with my brothers,” he said. “I can’t wait to sing all the songs that were so much a part of all of our lives. We are ready and committed to keep the family’s legacy alive and perform once again with the highest level of excellence, creativity, and most of all, integrity.”

^^I was wondering why the other thread was closed too. The Janet threads are still open.

I am surprised that I have come to the conclusion that something seems to be off between Randy and some of the other brothers since MJ's passing. Jackie who has been described as the brother who is most agreeable does not seem to be on the same side as Randy regarding a lot of things.

First Randy didn't want to have nothing to do with the Jacksons Dynasty show (which I can totally understand considering the timing). Jackie has been the brother that has supported the estate most and has been a consultant to the estate regarding their different projects. Randy on the other hand has been the brother who has been most critical of the estate. Randy was also opposing the tributes in Cardiff and Japan and now doesn't seem to be part of this reunion. Meanwhile we have Jackie sayingI can’t believe this is finally happening. There’s nothing like having ALL the brothers on stage at the same time.” What about Randy?

Randy seems to be most concerned about justice for Michael and Jackie seems to be most concerned about celebrating the life of Michael. Randy is critical of the estate and Jackie is pro the estate. I am sure they have their reasons but it's a little dissapointing if a reunion will take place without Randy.

Also surprised to say that the brother who seems to have been closest to Randy is Jermaine. He was participating with the Jackson3 in their TV show. He supported Randy at a couple of charity events. He took sides with Randy regarding the Cardiff tribute but is on board on the reunion.

Is Jermaine becoming the most agreeable among the brothers? That certainately wasn't the case in the past.

[Edited 4/7/12 0:39am]

Well this definitely confirms that there's still a lot of dysfunction between the brothers, much like there's dysfunction with the Clark Sisters (Denise Clark Bradford hasn't performed with her sisters since 1986 and many consider Twinkie, Dorinda, Karen and Jacky THE Clark Sisters). Randy's backing out of anything any of the brothers are doing is telling considering he's in a different boat. Randy always seemed to have a mind of his own and that never went well with some of the brothers and definitely not with Papa Joe, who used to treat Randy like shit growing up saying he wasn't as talented as his older brothers. I'm sure there's still scars. Randy just doesn't seem to appreciate what his brothers and has been known to tell it like it is on his side. I doubt Randy will ever do music again and he's probably confused as to why his older brothers are doing this. In many ways, it still seems incomplete without Randy because it doesn't seem to be a "real reunion".

Geez.. how about going to Ticketmaster and buying official and legit tickets and not going through resellers??

At the Borgata price levels are $165/$135/$95. I guess they will be the same on the other shows. Tickets go on sale April 21st.
