Oh there's Marty! He was actually my favorite Debarge back in the day. However, I'm going to be 42 this year and in no way do I find the long, scraggly wet look attractive nor appropriate on a middle aged man with salt & pepper facial hair. Nostalgically speaking Marty will likely always remain my favorite Debarge brother, but this ain't fresh, not fresh at all  |

I bet Janet is glad she got rid of him .I remember seeing him when "Control" was first released & he tried to get back with her. Her security had to carry him away & arrest him. He was cracked completely out. He looked terrible. I think when Janet annulled the marriage. He went further into a drug den.  will ALWAYS think of  like a "ACT OF GOD"! Its kind of her fault when you think about it. Marriage is supposed to be for better or worse and its not like she didn't know he was using when they dated. Rumors have been that Janet's parents made her get that marriage annulled. Had they stayed together she could have helped him through his rehab and recovery but instead she abandoned him. She is like Sonny Bono. Dump the spouse then marry and bed lookalike after lookalike after lookalike.

I'm sorry to say even though I like the De Barge sound and think they are very talented. Plus I purposely tried to stay away from giving any info.
When Janet was dating James he was actually bigger than her. I remember when they went to Six Flags Magic Mountain together incognito. Nobody recognized Janet they only recognized James & the women(& some men) were going in hysterics. While Janet stood & watched.
Janet just a few short years later eclipsed the whole De Barge success. If Janet would have stayed with him. Instead of getting annulled from him , she wouldn't have had the success she achieved with his crackhead ways. She made the right decision dumping him & not turning back... That is what I call destiny. Even seeing him not long after they broke up back then looking horrible. Plus the way he looks now looking even worse. She should be counting her blessings... will ALWAYS think of like a "ACT OF GOD"! N another realm. mean of all people who might of been aliens or angels.if found out that wasn't of this earth, would not have been that surprised. R.I.P. |

I still think she would have had a successful career. If you believe in destiny then Janet was going to be a star no matter who she was romantically linked and legally binded to. For female artists its different. The fans don't care if you are married. Actually they support it. Jame's wasn't even the lead singer of DeBarge so whatever recognition he had back then paled in comparison to El. Now if Janet had married Eldra....yeah she would have gone nowhere. Mark DeBarge (from DeBarge) was arrested for drug possession this week in a Hollywood hotel ... TMZ has learned.
Law enforcement sources tell us, Mark was in his hotel room with some woman early Wednesday morning -- when the woman's parole officer stopped by for a routine check-up.
We're told the officer searched the room and discovered narcotics -- it's unclear exactly what.
Once the drugs were found, we're told Mark and his female companion were placed under arrest. Mark was booked for narcotics possession and has since been released.
Calls to Mark's camp were not returned.
