Dr.Buzzard's Original Savannah Band "Hard Times" All this talk about "unsung" reminded me of Mr.Darnell August and his ridiculous songbook
Not really a fan of Cory Daye, but she really carried this tune.

I was just listening to this last night while i was making dinner. Savannah Band, and especially this tune still gets heavy rotation from me even after all these years

You know what? I always loved their 'distinctive' sound. I just feel they were too shortlived in the 80s, and underappreciated, because of all the various styles of music that popped up in the 80s, and sort of drowned out their sound. I still love "Cherchez La Femme" - one of their best tracks.

....
August Darnell, Stony Browder, Jr and Cory had some interesting songs and mixes of genres...way ahead of their time ....for example....this is what? a mix of Oompah and Swing/ Big Band?...
