The story behind the recording of the song made me love it even more.

She was throwing major shade when she sang the line "I wasn't born yesterday,,," lol Gotta love Madame Hyman.

Tied in with "Under Your Spell". Its a shame that the Mtume-Lucas partnership didn't last lost, she fit in their music like a shapely broad in a stretch velvet gown.

This was just another case of Phyllis sabatoging herself. She went to the press as soon as the album was released and said she was unhappy with the final product. That pissed Mtume-Lucas off. Clive wanted them to produce her follow-up, but , because her her comments about the album, they refused.

One of my faves from her. R&B radio used to play this song a lot back then.

Yep,Phyllis really sabotaged herself.Mtume-Lucas refused to work with her again. Her career is filled with incidents like this....just when she was on the verge of major superstardom, she would do something stupid which jeopardized her career.
