Anyone else heard of british newcomer Neon Hitch? For the last year or so, there has been buzz about her. She's set to release her debut album in the summer. You can already hear her featured on the Gym Class Heroes' top 20 hit "Ass Back Home", and her debut single is currently #1 on the billboard dance/club chart. She also co-wrote and did backup vocals for Ke$ha's top 10 hit "Blah Blah Blah", and appeared as a backup dancer in Ke$ha's "Take It Off" video.

Just a bit of background on Hitch...her pre-fame life has been very unusual:

-Neon is her real name her parents are batshit crazy

-as a child she lived out of a caravan with her family and to make money they were street performers and made/sold jewelry and clothes. She also traveled around Europe in a cicrus as a trained trapeze artist, fire swinger and stilt walker.

-spent some of her teen years in India (she never went to school).

-while trying to kickstart her music career in London, she was homeless for a while and lived on and off with Amy Winehouse and other friends.

-after becoming friends with Neneh Cherry's daughter, Hitch met Neneh Cherry and was signed to a smaller UK label by Cherry's husband

-hot young songwriter/producer Benny Blanco contacted her through her myspace page and arranged for her to fly to NY

-through Blanco, she met Ke$ha and built some credits on her album

-was signed to Warner Bros by Kara Dioguardi

This week she'll be performing on the NewNextNow awards which airs on Logo. One of her promotional songs can be heard on the MTV show Teen Wolf. It seems her handlers are targeting a teen/gay audience, which would ensure her success on itunes at the very least.

Hitch is another girl who can only carry a tune, but can't really "sang". We're about to find out if there's room for her at the top of the pop world.

I was with this chick when she was struggling, she use to sing in local bars here with my sister. She's a family friend. Still speak online now and then.

She's sold out though. She's fucking and whoring her way to fame. I could tell you mad gossip about this lady lol.

Her "music" is god awful, but her early home recordings were the opposite to this....plus, fame changes people big time, she's like an empty shell now. A puppet.

Last we saw her was about 5 months ago when she came to visit my newborn niece.
