I played this for my pops the other day and he nearly lost his damn mind.

He hadn't heard this song in about 40 years. We were talking about music, and he said Joe Tex came here (Houston) about 40 years ago and had this one group with a bad cut open up for him. But he just couldn't remember the name. So, I went to Soul Train's Wikipedia page, and and went down names of bands from the early 70s that appeared on the show. And bn I said Detroit Emeralds, and he said "that's it."
