I remember the first time I heard Davy's voice in my dad's car when oldies radio was playing and it was "Daydream Believer". As far as I know that's the only Davy-led Monkees tune that was played (the other songs were led by Micky Dolenz). Axl Rose also stole Davy's one dance move, should've paid him. lol RIP to the "Cute Monkee".

I loved that song "Girl" that Davy sang on that episode of The Brady Bunch. Very cute and catchy song. RIP Davy, you will be missed. sad

RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

That, or a prexisting condition that wasn't discovered in time. You can be the healthiest person in the world and still drop dead of a heart attack. Sad news nonetheless, 66 is too young. rose

Didn't the legendary exercising health nut Jack LaLanne die of a heart attack (he was over 90 but still)?

I'm not sure, but Jim Fixx who helped start the running craze during the 70s, was in great health, but had a heart attack and died during one of his runs. I think heart problems may have been genetic for him, since I remember reading the same thing happened to his father. I'm a runnig fanatic myself.

This makes me sad. I use to watch "The Monkees" all the time and his "Brady Bunch" episode was one of my favorites.

He sure was. I used to have a mad crush on him when they showed repeats in the 80s when I was a little kid. This is very sad news.

I wake up in the morning and while still in bed I check my phone for emails, texts, etc. Then I check FB. The first thing I see is Erin's post about Davy and I start to cry. He was my late sis' childhood crush and it just brought back all the memories of her singing The Monkees' songs in our bedroom. I am not going to check FB anymore while I'm in bed in the morning. Just been ruining my days lately... sad too many people leaving this planet way too young.

I just watched a PBS show last month with Davy singing and running around on stage. Made me so happy and reminded me of my sis. Now this... bawl

I hate hearing about this. Beloved childhood singers are slowly leaving this world.

Rest in peace, Davey. He was such a cutie, and by far, my favourite member of the Monkees.
