Also the same man that was cheating on her was the same man when they were just acquaintances/buddies who told her to get him whatever girl he wanted and she obliged. When she married him, she thought she could make Ike a one-woman man but that was her mistake because she knew what kind of guy Ike was. |

She befriended those women as well, esp when she realized that she couldn't change the situation. |

Right. I still shudder when I think about that whole situation with Ike and one of the Ikettes having a child and Tina almost killed herself over it. That woman went through some pain with that fool. |

I read it and I dont recall her saying she really fought him or anyone for that matter.
Some of Ike's former musicians recalled incidents of Tina slapping Ike a few times. Some others also saw Tina getting into it with some women. Either over Ike or something else. We gotta remember she was the choreographer of the Ikettes and taught each member their dance moves (Ike controlled everything else of course).
Oh,no I'm not saying she never did(and just left it out)...IDK! Harlepolis,I just dont recall reading about all these fights or even enough to mention. I know its been about 10 years since I read it but a tub story or all the dramatics not ringing a bell. [Edited 2/24/12 17:55pm] |

lol you gotta read it again I guess. Read carefully. It might've been one of those "blink and you'll miss it" type of stories. Tina's movie was a Disney version of what really went down. |

Turn page 86
And it wasn't an Ikette btw, it was a prostitute that posed as Tina, who happen to be one of Ike's many companions. |

He's cool by me. I would've been glad had only 1/3 of journalists nowadays had the same interviewing skills as him. |

Found this at an Ike Turner memoriam page by one of his former musicians. Ike looks like he was tooting backstage. Tina looking at him like "fool, your eyes are rollin' in the back of your pea-size head..." |

Naw, I appreciate the page # regardless! Okay so we got a girl thrown in a bathtub....so it happened. No wonder I didn't remember it was like 1 sentence, forgive me its been 10 years . But for the more recent readers do you feel she wrote much about her fighting?! I didnt feel that, it was more about others doing it. [Edited 2/24/12 18:43pm] |

Some things she left out. She didn't tell exactly everything but then again most biographies, even one's as honest as Tina's, leave out some other details. It happens. Like I said in another thread, when Tina finally did leave him, she left at the right time because Ike was ready to sign another recording contract with another label that would leave Tina biding with Ike for five more years. She felt something was gonna blow so she fought him literally to get out. |

Keeping it Ree...
I do have a few questions: does it seem like Aretha was closest to Carolyn than she was to Erma? It also seems like Aretha and Cecil (her brother) was also close. But I also heard that Cecil was something of a thug and possibly resented his father. |
