As for Aretha,,,

I remember getting hyped when I heard that she would co-write a book with David Ritz(one of my fave music biographers) BOY, do I wish to block that memory out.

Its a damn shame when all you could get out of a book was a bunch of recollections of the best hamburger stands Aunt Ree came across to in her lifetime, and she would provide exact dates too, but wouldn't give a shit about checking the date on her recording "Bridge Over Troubled Water" or any of her music.

Granted, I'm still waiting for the day when a proper research/biography on her music/life gets written. Lets just collectively hope and send a message to the universe for that day to come near pray

I wouldn't even consider that bullshit a cookbook either, just a dairy on the BEST hamburgers she ate down in memorylane, with dates and weather reports.

I'll say this though, Aretha got her shade game ON, she paid eeeeeeevery two legged having vagina major dust, unapologetically at that.

But if you're looking for another "Divided Souls", forget about it, you ain't gonna find it in this ratchet mess.

Apparently Tina and Bernadette Robi were friends and Bernadette used to ask Tina for advice on relationships. She basically told Bernadette to leave Randy, whom she was dating because Randy was possessive of her, always telling her that her (Bernadette's) situation reminded Tina of Ike. One night, Bernadette was in Tina's L.A. home when they heard all this noise outside, then a glass broke and somehow Randy got in. While others panicked, Tina stood up calmly, went to the back, got her gun and when Randy was fully inside and tried to charge into her, she fired some shots. The second or third shot scared Randy straight because he got the hell out of dodge. lol Randy tweeted about this last year.

Pay no mind to our jokes, Madame Trina, because when she plays those ivory keys and open her mouth, all of the interrupting bullshit gets thrown outta the window.

This is an example,,,,

And there's a reason why I haven't chosen a link from her heyday, because it doesn't matter, she leaves the same impace.

I'm not that into gospel, but that song MOVED me twice only, be her and by Sister Rosetta Tharpe, who was equally profound in her musicanship.

Probably the most memorable Aretha disses in recent years was Oprah's 3-day weekend Tribute to all the Mainstream Black Female ICONs of all genres...

Whitney was given an invitation but couldnt make it for whatever reason..

That Gathering of the Grand-Master Divas was a ONCE in a Lifetime deal...That portrait of them in Oprah's garden was something to see....A lot of those women have passed on since...Aretha out of all people should have been there. Oprah paid for every damn thing..You know Oprah would have rented her a Posh-Bus...

Plus it wasn't like Ree had to FLY to L.A. (I think that's where it was) to be a part of it. She just didn't wanna be around Diana, Tina, Patti and 'em. TINA TURNER CAME BACK TO AMERICA TO BE AT THAT SHIT! lol But Aretha, who lives in Detroit, didn't wanna come? Shows you she's the Queen of Shade, as well, as Soul. lol
