Weird. A second single put up on Amazon and iTunes already with very little fanfare, long before the video is to debut and on the verge of the physical format of the last single (finally) being released in certain territories.

It's a strange marketing plan. Even stranger as a Madonna marketing plan, considering she has a high percentage of collectors in her fanbase that would snatch up multi-format single releases, especially in the UK. And it doesn't appear that they're even going to release the remixes for GMAYL, even online. Unless we get a double A-side release with the remixes for both included in one release (in the vein of Nothing Fails/Nobody Knows Me).

I hope they know what they're doing, but I think they might have misjudged Madonna's fanbase a bit in all of this.

Does anyone else think that this album will mark the return of the outrageous, provocative Madonna? lol Think about it...

***the album has a parental warning sticker

***Song titles include "Girl Gone Wild","Gang Bang","I Don't Give A...",and "I Fucked Up"

***she's half naked on the cover of the 'Girl Gone Wild' single

I've been saying for awhile that she needs to embrace her sluttiness lol she should accept the fact that she's a wild cougar on the prowl and be proud of it...bring back the bold, unapologetic "I-don't-give-a-fuck" attitude that made us fall in love with her in the first place!

I guess they're focusing on building excitement for the album. I'm a big Madonna fan but I really have no interest in remixes. I wouldn't buy a single that just has remixes of the same song. I think maybe they're saving the remixes for clubs and dj's. I like to dance to remixes of her songs at a club but I wouldn't really listen to remixes at home. I think most Madonna fans are more into having an album of new different songs, rather than a ton of remixes of the same song.

There was a listening party yesterday.... this is the review from a guy who was there!!!!

Stepping Into Her World: The MDNA Listening Party

Tonight, a dream came true—I was invited to Liz Rosenberg's office for a Madonna listening party. It wasn't for Like a Prayer and this wasn't 1989, but MDNA lived up to my expectations and Liz always surpasses them.

In a nutshell: Write my Orbituary, MDNA is a beautiful killer. (I'm equally in love with Orbit's work, which is with more personal-sounding songs as I am with Solveig's clubbier creations.)

As I was about to share with my new pal Sergio Kletnoy, seeing that legendary profile on Liz inThe New York Times in '92 (a backlash pill meant to allow for something positive to be said about Madonna at a time when she was being excoriated everywhere) made me want to be in her nerve center so badly. My longtime friend Giulio got to visit Liz in her Warner Bros. offices (complete with the hair dryers from Blond Ambition!) a few years ago, but her new digs are still special.

Got there early to find only a couple of people (it was later packed) ignoring the fabulous hors d'oeuvres and cupcakes, things Madonna probably hasn't eaten since she was dating Basquiat and was stealing food out of Dumpsters. The sound was pumped to the point of distortion, with "Gang Bang" blaring. It's an assault-on-the-senses kind of ditty, so it was perfect to walk into a wall of it.

My Russian doll Sergio arrived, we finally met in the flesh and I spent most of my time engrossed in conversation with him about our mutual obsession. It was like sex addicts meeting to talk about favorite blowjobs—it went on and on and never got old. Also got to chat with Liz's beautiful and indulgent assistant Nadia (she must know that fans like Sergio and I should probably be handled with tongs and Hazmat suits, but like the wife in The Painted Veil, Nadia mixes and mingles out of the goodness of her heart) and my longtime so-many-mentor Denis, and of course with lovely Liz.

People seemed to be having fun so were either acting and couldn't wait to declare Madonna over once back in front of their computers or were actually enjoying the record.

The highlight of the night was when Liz and Nadio cranked "Gang Bang" and danced to it at the head of the table for everyone. "'Gang Bang' is my favorite song, go figure," Liz announced.

I'll do a full review after I've legitimately heard this album in a focused setting, but here are some thoughts to chew on—at least it's not from someone anonymous!

"Girl Gone Wild" (still listed as "Girls" in my hand-out, oopsy) opens the album and is, for my money, a scorching-hot song. Is it "Madonna?" No; she didn't write it or anything. But it's a terrific opener and undeniable (to me) fun.

"Gang Bang" is like "GGW" on female Viagra (chocolate?)—it's a dark, driving club stomper, aggressive as hell. It has a techno edge that reminded me superficially of "Control" by Traci Lords. (A song I love. And please don't take any of my comparisons too literally; there was nothing that sounded...reductive.) Mika came up with this???

"Turn Up the Radio" is a sweeping, joyous pop-dance song as anthemic as "Get Together," one of my very favorite post-Ray of Light songs.

"Give Me All Your Luvin'" sticks out like a sore thumb on this album. I remain a fan of it, but it's not near the top of my MDNA list.

Loved hearing "Superstar," complete with Lola singing backing vocals! A charming and fluffy song ("ooooh, la la!") that felt for me like "Little Star" had grown up and was having fun.

The suite of songs "Love Spent," "Masterpiece" and "Falling Free" is probably going to please any Madonna fan I've ever met. They're beautifully sung and are not cursed with oversimplified lyrics, nor do they sound like they care much if asinine radio programmers will like them. "Falling Free" is my fave song of the album so far, gorgeously sung, a total stand-out. Go, Joe Henry! Keep it together, indeed.

Now, I'd heard the bonus tracks were to die for, but who knew that a rumor would be true times 10? "Beautiful Killer" is a fucking great Orbit-sounding Solveig song (could Orbit really not have had a hand in this one???). How in the HELL this is not on the album proper, how in the HELL this is not a title track, I'll never understand

. Even the cringe-inducing title "I Fucked Up" turns out to be a really pretty, plaintive pop song.

"B-day Song" didn't seem to have its guest star—M.I.A. was M.I.A.

At some point, Nicki Minaj declares Madonna the only queen.

I genuinely loved most of what I heard. I would be shocked if many people didn't feel this was a vast improvement over Hard Candy which, let's be honest, was a good record. There are definitely songs on here that are personal, uplifting and inspiring mixed among the far louder "I'm still hot and young, fuck me in any hole you can!" club crushers.

And also another info from a guy who was there....

On MDNA
First things first:
#MDNA is exactly what you think it is, a massive-boombastic-in-your-face-electric-don't-give-a-fuck-full-of-energy album.
#MDNA is Madonna's fuck-you to everyone who says she's past her prime, an emotional rollercoaster that takes u 2 the club & back 2 reality.
#MDNA is not revolutionary, it's not new but it's now, it's current w/classic Madonna hooks, great & cheesy lyrics & it made me want 2 dance.

For me, #MDNA as a full album is better than HardCandy or COTDF, apart from Hung Up of course which is in my top 5...Most of the songs would fit perfectly on the radio, by the way they sound, energy, fun and amazing hooks...

The album is pop music at it's best... It has something for everyone, it's classic Madonna, it's current and it's fun. I LOVED it, it's Madonna going back to her roots of real dance music...

The flow of the album was like a huge rollercoaster, it went up it went down it made u want to get off & then right b4 it sucked u back in.

Deluxe version with the bonus songs is so much better, my 2 fave songs were on the the deluxe...

Throughout the entire album I just couldn't help but think that this is the most commercial Madonna album, full of hooks, energy and love. It was a major fuck u to everyone who talks shit, It was fun, uptempo, full of energy and Nicki saying Madonna is the Queen.

Let's get 1 thing straight, Madonna sounds great, but u r not buying this album 4 vocals, she is having a blast & u can feel it all over. Madonna sounds like she's having a blast, it has something for everyone, I think that every Madonna fan is going to have a diff fave song.

U will go nuts when u hear it... Gang Bang, Love Spent, Beautiful Killer, I Fucked Up, Superstar, I'm a Sinner is MAJOR! The slower songs are: Love Spent, Masterpiece, Falling Free and even I Fucked Up (even though it has cursing in it). My 3 favorite tracks? 1. Beautiful Killer... 2. Love Spent... 3. I Fucked Up.
The album is so much fun, it's a 9 out of 10, if we could lose 1 or 2 songs, it would be a 10... I think most Madonna fans are going to L.U.V it! If you are a Madonna fan you will LOVE it! It is pretty fucking kick ass!
It still feels so surreal listening to the album, half of the songs I don't even remember because it all happened so fast... I honestly wish I could have listened to the album all night, it was so damn good, some songs are much better than others...

I honestly did not mind vocals on GGW, but compared to the rest of the album they did sound a bit flat... She sounds so alive.

Madonna sounds amazing! Gang Bang has so much attitude, it feels like an explosion, an atomic bomb, a massive fight between good and evil...Best part of the night, Madonna's publicist dancing to Gang Bang, the joy in her eyes and face was infectious, it was clearly her fave song.

Turn Up The Radio
Straight up dance/pop record, it's fun, cheesy and current... It's not my fave but I wouldn't turn it off...

Honestly, Give Me All Your Luvin is the only song on the album that sticks out like a sore thumb and @mattrett completely agrees...

Lola makes a guest appearance on Superstar, it's adorable, fun, with an amazing hook and I wanted to play it over and over and over again.

I'm a Sinner
- I remember loving it, but honestly don't remember the details because foolishly I did not write my thoughts down...It was mid tempo but I did not write down my thoughts... I was just trying to listen...

Love Spent is a beautiful mid-tempo pop record... It's Miles Away meets Nothing Fails meets Love Profussion, it was pretty & warm..

Falling Free
is an ode to 60's, reminded me of Mer Girl, ambient, pretty, hypnotic and trippy.

From deluxe edition:
'Beautiful killer' - it's bad-ass, kick-ass & so fucking cool. No wonder it's a tribute to Alain Delon AKA France's James Dean. Hands down, my fave song on the album, it had so much energy, so much swagger, coolness and attitude... 10 stars!

Only Madonna can make lyrics like I Fucked Up sound beautiful and melancholy and yet so full of energy and life.

...this is just my opinion, Bday Song was just ok... It did not move me like most of the songs on the album... Honestly, it did not stand out, it was a bit cheesy and if I had it my way, it would be off the album... But it could grow...Didn't love it... It did not stand out to me, the lyrics were a bit childish and if I had it my way it would be the first to go

Any confirmation on the tracklist of the Deluxe Version and maybe exclusive bonus tracks for foreign states (Japan)?!?!?!?!?

Madonna's Japanese release have always been interesting, thanks to exclusive bonus tracks, and MDNA will continue this nice tradition coming out with a dedicated 18 track tracklist, the most of any physical release so far.

Complete with the usual obi-strip and Japanese introductory/lyrics sheets, this Japanese only version of MDNA includes the 17 tracks of the Deluxe Excpliciy album plus the Radio Edit of the Justin Cognito Remix of "Girl Gone Wild" as a Japanese-only Bonus Track.

Universal Music Japan will release the album on March 26 for a suggested retail price of 2,548 Yen.

For a complete look at the Japanese Madonna albums and singles through the years please check MadonnaTribe's Guides to Japanese Releases by clicking here.

Japan gets a whopping 18 (!) tracks. Not only do they get the acoustic version of "Love Spent",they also get the Justin Cognito remix of "Girl Gone Wild",which is excellent.

Those of you who didn't pre-order MDNA from iTunes during SuperBowl weekend, you're gonna miss out on the exclusive bonus track ("Love Spent" (acoustic version) but you can get it on the Japanese release.

THE IRON DIVA
Written by Nelson Branco

http://intorontomag....9-the-iron-diva

MUSIC:
In troubled times, there’s something reassuring about the perennial resurrection of Madonna

Is Madonna still relevant? More than ever.

Since Madonna Louise Ciccone last toured with her outrageously successful Sticky and Sweet extravaganza ($400 million, thank you), the world lost two of music’s most indelible influences, fallen ’80s super icons Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston. And music’s next great hope, Amy Winehouse. All to drugs.

Luckily, we don’t have to worry about the Eternal Girl. Knowing Queen Madge and her stubborn spirit, she’ll outlast us all.

After all, her drug of choice isn’t dangerous or life-threatening. “Life and love inspire me,” says Madonna. “I think reinventing yourself is vital to your survival as an artist and a human being. I know it’s cliché to say about me at this point, but it’s true. My curiosity definitely is the driving force in my life and career. When you stop learning, engaging and growing, you’re dead.”

For mourning pop fans, Madonna’s perennial resurrections have been soothing and reassuring in these tumultuous, complex times.

She’s still kissing girls (this time, the lucky whippersnapper is Nicki Minaj), selling-out stadiums, producing infectious hit singles (“Give Me All Your Luvin’”), thumbing her nose at movie critics, reshaping her age-defying body, cussing out hydrangeas and inspiring us all by raising a modern family as a single mom. Whew.

“I love Canada. You guys get it.”

Somewhere in between all that managed chaos and fun, Madonna scored her second Golden Globe Award for “Masterpiece.” She even beat her longtime rival Elton John in the category. In a rare act of diplomacy, Madonna didn’t take Elton’s bait when the surly musician — and his Toronto-born partner David Furnish — attacked her mercilessly in the press afterward.

When I bring up John’s snarky, pointed attacks, Madonna smiles knowingly. “Yes, it appears he’s always mad at me about something, isn’t he? I’m honest when I say I have nothing against him. I’m a fan of his music. He’s a brilliant artist. And I will always adore and respect him. And he has the right to gripe as much as he wants. I like knowing he’s thinking about me a lot.”

Her recently released movie WE tackles Madonna’s two favourite subjects, fame and love, through the storied romance of King Edward VIII and Wallis Simpson. While the movie received mixed reviews, Madonna managed to escape the personal attacks she’s faced in the past for her films.

Would she, like Edward, give up her throne for love? “Yes,” she answers. “But then again, I’m of the mind: Why can’t I have both? I don’t think we need to compromise. Of course, these are different times and I am not a royal.”

She is royalty of a kind, reminding everyone she’s still the greatest performer of ’em all by single-handedly stealing the Super Bowl earlier this year with a lively, record-breaking half-time performance which people are still talking about. Her Egyptian-cheerleading-gospel-choir-inspired spectacle was the most-watched halftime show on record, and actually edged out the game’s averages in both ratings and total viewers.

Not bad for a 53-year-old star, especially in this youth-obsessed market of ours.

Moving forward, it’s her latest album MDNA and upcoming tours fans are most excited about. “While my new passion is making movies, touring and recording will always be my first love,” she says. “My music career pays the mortgage — and keeps me in shape. Plus, it’s fun. I think the fans are going to love it. I didn’t want to do anything too serious because the film was so taxing for me on an artistic level. I can’t wait to get up there and dance and sing. Some of my little ones have yet to see that side of my life.

“I wanted to make an album that was unapologetically happy. I think we all need to dance a bit more these days. The world needs a breather, and [DJ/producer] Martin [Solveig] knows how to put a smile on people’s faces. And, of course, I have my partner-in-crime, William Orbit, helping me out with the substance. MDNA is a good hybrid of the introspective and fun.”

She’s looking forward to visiting Canada, where’s she performing in Toronto, Montreal and Ottawa late summer and early fall. “I love Canada. You guys get it,” she says. When asked if she still thinks Toronto is a “fascist state,” an infamous moniker from her Truth or Dare documentary, fallout from her Blonde Ambition tour in 1990 and a visit from Toronto’s morality squad. “No, of course not,” she says, shaking her head. “My how times have changed, huh?

“My country could learn a lot from you guys.”

Madonna takes aim at ex Guy Ritchie in new song
Posted Image
MADONNA takes aim at ex-husband Guy Ritchie in feisty lyrics in a song titled "I Don't Give A..." on her next album, MDNA.

The song, which hints at losing her identity in the eight-year marriage, which ended in 2008, includes the lines, "I tried to be a good girl/I tried to be your wife/Diminished myself/And I swallowed my light/I tried to become all/That you expect of me/And if it was a failure/I don't give a (bleep)."

What could be Madonna's most personal lyrics yet created a buzz at the invite-only playback of the superstar's album by longtime press agent Liz Rosenberg Friday night at The Agency Group in New York, the New York Post reported.

While no printed lyrics were provided, Madonna sounds in a fighting mood on the new album. In a song titled Bang Bang, more Madonna rage, also perhaps directed at Ritchie, was on display.

Lyrics include, "Bang bang, shot you dead/Shot my lover in the head/Now my lover is dead/And I have no regrets/He deserved it/And I'm going straight to hell."

Madonna and Ritchie wed in 2000, and he reportedly got up to a $92 million settlement in their split. They share custody of sons Rocco and David Banda. Hinting at some acrimony, Ritchie told Details magazine in November, "I stepped into a soap opera."

But the MDNA album, due out March 26, does include some love, according to the Post. There's a dreamy song called Superstar, which includes vocals by Madonna's daughter Lourdes.

Rosenberg said, "I have not heard Madonna explain whether the lyrics are autobiographical or not. She doesn't often explain lyrics to her songs, and she did have a few writing collaborators. I can only confirm that the response from the music press who heard the album was really exciting. They seemed to love it."

This is not the first time the singer has touched on a failed relationship in her lyrics. Madonna's marriage to her first husband, Sean Penn, was the subject of the song Till Death Do Us Part from her 1989 album, Like A Prayer.

Madonna and the actor filed for divorce in January 1989, following several well-publicised fights, one of which led to a 60-day prison term for Penn.

Among the lyrics are, "The bruises they will fade away/You hit so hard with the things you say/I will not stay to watch your hate as it grows/You're not in love with someone else/You don't even love yourself."

Many many thanks.

Now that I know tracklist for the various editions, I will probably order the "normal" Deluxe Edition; even if exclusive to the JAP release to my eyes a remix doesn't justify the extra price (beside, it's a "radio edit" so I hope we will get the full version on a proper CD single).

Each week, starting tomorrow, Perez Hilton will premiere 3 songs of the new MDNA album by posting 60 second snippets!

This week we’ll start with…

6 March, 9 AM PST – 60 sec snippet of “I’m Addicted”
7 March, 9 AM PST – 60 sec snippet of “Love Spent”
8 March, 9 AM PST – TBA

That's really exciting, but I don't know if I wanna just hear it all at once when I get the CD.

There are too many choices... sigh I wonder if the Deluxe Edition on Amazon is the clean or explicit version...

Here come the Remixes-storm!
MadonnaTribe has heard and can exclusively report some fresh info about the upcoming Madonna releases that will prepare for the launch of MDNA. Are you ready for remixes?

Give Me All Your Luvin'
The long-awaited release of the "Give Me All Your Luvin'" remixes has finally been green-lighted. Expect them to be available as digital downloads from the iTunes music store in the next few days.

Girl Gone Wild

"Girl Gone Wild" will remain an e-single exclusive to North American territories for a little more. As of now the plans are to make it available to the rest of the markets in a couple of weeks' time.

Masterpiece
The plot thickens in Britain as what started as an attempt from Polydor to please the mainstream radio networks has apparently turned into a plan to have "Masterpiece" as an actual UK single.
Remixes are being commissioned, too, and we think this is an excellent news. If you happened to listen to some very well done unofficial remixes floating around the web - based on filtered vocals from the album version - you probably realized the huge potential "Masterpiece" has when it gets to remixing treatment.

Thanks to our Community member londonfan30 for this info.

Lastly, MadonnaTribe has heard that an option has been considered to have the MDNA album sequenced in the same way "Confession" or "You Can Dance" were released.
We didn't have a final word if this will eventually happen, but this definetly adds excitement and anticipation to the release that is now just a bunch of weeks ahead
