Robin Gibb on Beating Cancer, Stage Return
March 10, 2012
Bee Gees star Robin Gibb, 62, plans to take the stage on April 10 to perform a new song, Don't Cry Alone, as part of the world premiere of his new classical composition, The Titanic Requiem, the singer says on his website.
The Royal Philarhomonic will perform the piece at the Great Hall, Central Hall, Westminster, London on the 100th Anniversary of the day that the Titanic began its fateful journey from Southampton in 1912.
Gibb has been in and out of the hospital since late last year for stomach and colon problems. But he told the U.K.'s Sunday Mirror, "I am beating cancer and I can't wait to carry on with my work."
Gibb also thanked his wife Dwina for helping him through the difficult times, telling the Mirror: "I could not have done it without Dwina. She has never left my side and is a wonderful person."

Cancer is front and center on my Father's side of the family...My Grandmother died from Lung Cancer and never smoked a day in her life....My Father is a Body-Builder and a 9yr survivor of Stomach Cancer. The doctor removed 80% of his stomach and he's Cancer free...My Dad's older brother is a Colon Cancer survivor and doing great.....I've been checked and I'm Cancer-free but I will continue to get check ups for the rest of my life.....
One of the reasons my Father & Uncle survived their Cancer is because they want to LIVE and they think positive 24/7....
So Robin can Fight both diseases and Win and my prayers go out to him and his family....
