they should make a Deluxe-Edition of this Best Of ...and add the three missing songs as bonus tracks smile

Why wouldn't they include "That's the Way Love Goes" from his second album? disbelief

actually he had a couple of albums and even minor chart apperances after that one too, but nothing is on the Best Of. legal reasons I guess, different record company, he had some battles with Delicious Vinyl and left after the debut

Vanglorious... this is protected by the red, the black, and the green. With a key... sissy!

Remember in the 80s when Motown began issuing those cheaply packaged "Greatest Hits" compilations such as this one? disbelief this one is downright embarassing. It includes mostly single edits (only "Square Biz" and "I'm A Sucker For Your Love" are the album versions)....a song as captivating as "Portugese Love" must be heard in it's entirely! I used to own a few of these ridiculous sets but I later sold them. They're not worth having in my music collection.

Wow! Despite the mediocre music, she's not even smiling there, but the funniest part is the horrendous hot pink design and font. Why was this crimson magenta, pizazz style art so popular about 1987 - 88. This screams 1987, but knowing motown its probably 1989 to 1992 as they were behind in fashion design.

Like where people in the late 80s, was Fran Drescher their designer?

I always think of the wretched logo for the London 2012 Olympics as a sort of bastard offshoot of that soulless late-80s 'pizzazz' style you're talking about. ill

In height of recent events I remember how bad this one was:

Only the U.S version though. The U.S version basically takes all the biggest hits and remixes them without including the original versions.

And I've always thought that cover shot was terrible! It looks like she's been institutionally confined and then rather unwisely left in command of a power tool.

Oh yeah. I forgot about that one. I purchased it but ended up selling it back because I was under the impression that the second disc included the original extended versions and remixes but was horrified at what I heard. I thought that second disc was atrocious!!!!

I did as well initially, but it grew on me a great deal when I revisited years later. Give it another spin if you can (Spotify?). You might change your mind.

Funny, I love it for the same reasons! It's so ridiculously awesome (or rather awesomely ridiculous). lol

biggrin I have to admit, I do like pieces of art/design that sit on the thin line between those two states.

I agree totally, the logo is god awful. Was the designer on drugs. Maybe I should start a thread on Pizazz style art.

Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name
