Quincy Jones: Jackson friendship wasn't poisoned
http://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/entertainment/news/quincy-jones-jackson-friendship-wasnt-poisoned-16112500.html#ixzz1lEsbuO94

2 February 2012

Quincy Jones decided to forgive Michael Jackson because he didn't want the "poison to take hold".

The legendary record producer worked with the late pop superstar on his albums Off the Wall, Thriller and Bad. However, their working relationship became strained after they disagreed on several things. While making the Thriller album, Quincy believed Billie Jean was too weak to feature on the track listing - but Michael insisted on keeping it.

It has also been reported that Michael began to feel Quincy was too possessive, while Quincy believed Michael was becoming too demanding.

Quincy insists he resolved his differences with Michael before his death in 2009 and he has nothing but good things to say about the late singer.

"You know, I always deal in forgiveness and I'd forgiven Michael a long time before he died. We did some amazing work together, produced some remarkable, special records, and you can never forget that. You shouldn't," he told the March edition of GQ. "I forgive people because I expect people to do the same with me. If you don't forgive then it's a poison, and it eats you up and takes hold of you."

Quincy has fond memories of collaborating with Michael. The 78-year-old music mogul is happy to have shared so many good times with the star.

"Me and Michael had some amazing times together, unforgettable times," he smiled.

falloff

Quincy was here in the middle east doing a charity project with redone , an arabic version of tevin campbell's song tomrrow , I just don't know why he doesn't take a rest , enjoy what is left for him, he is very old.....I'm wondering why he didn't do an arabic version of " we are the world" instead of that song......

I don't know why he is forgiving michael for , for what , MJ did nothing !confused

Both of them sound like Michael's scorned lovers. One minute they're claiming he was a traitor and a loser, next minute they talk about how great he was as a friend and collaborator...

Yeah he said some shit about believing Michael may had molested kids or some shit if I read right... of course neither he nor Quincy supported him in 1993 or 2003 so... though I think I recall Bruce didn't initially believe it in 1993... my mind's sketchy on Bruce.

It was 2007-08 and Bruce first talked about the 2007 World Music Awards incident and said he and Quincy just shook their heads on how Michael "changed" or something (can't fully remember). As you guys know, the story was that Michael got booed at the show and Bruce was kinda cosigning other people who were making snide remarks about the whole thing

He also said he'd never work with Michael again

then he spoke about the trial and how Michael and T-Mez asked him to be a character witness because he couldn't on a "good conscience" because he had been told things about Michael "that would make the head on your neck stand up"

but when Michael passed, he spoke about how Michael was like his other son and we all know what Quincy said

[img:$uid]http://media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lrkgusaOZe1qgsxtl.gif[/img:$uid]

Whenever I see Quincy mention Michael, I always smirk because like a lot of fans, you can't forget. I'm sure he loved Michael but as you were his friend and a father figure to him when he was 20-29 and someone he could trust, how bitchmade can you be to throw dirt on him AND HIS KIDS barely 3 weeks after he died? But at the same time, I've gotten that impression from a lot of the folks that was from Quincy's team who worked on Off The Wall, ET Storybook, Thriller, and Bad with the exception of The Johnsons, Rod Temperton and James Ingram

but Quincy? Bruce? Patti Austin? all of them have made snide comments

can't help thinking bruce was still pissed about some royalty shit when (and after) he made the remark about not working with mike again.

but didn't stop him rehashing old articles, posts on a old forum and Make Music Mine into "in the studio with MJ" which then mystically had it's release pushed forward shortly after Mike's death.

and as for batty ole Q... well shit... not going there smile

I know right? Then when he dies, all of them wanna kiss his ass. It's like how people are treating Don Cornelius now. No one was thinking of Don and thanking him either for helping their careers but now that they're both dead, people are kissing their asses now as if they were best friends. Fuck outta here.

Tom Mesereau said back in 2009 or 2010 that during the trial, he saw how folks who said they loved him or were his friends, they refused to show support and the phone numbers stopped working. When Michael was taken in in November 2003 and Quincy made the statement "I know the music, not the man", I assumed he was on those people

Q also said back in 2009 that compared to the other artists he's worked with, Michael didn't have much talent and wasn't in the same league...take that how you want

here's what Bruce said

"I don't have any first-hand knowledge of Michael doing any of the things that he is accused of. But people that I trust implicitly claim that they have seen things. That's why I couldn't come forward in Michael's defense when I was asked.

When you are under oath you MUST tell the truth.

'I can't truly vouche for Michael's character. No one can do that but Michael. I have worked with him closely since he was 17 years old. I have never personally seen him do any of the things that he is accused of. Have you?

I have been told things that would curl your hair about Michael. I have not seen any of those things. Have you?

By-the-way, when I was asked to come forward for Michael, I couldn't do it! Not with any good conscience.'

I just found what he said about the 2007 WMAs. He said that he was ashamed of MJ about the way he was running his life and when someone asked him if there was a chance that he, Michael, and Quincy would reunite, he responded "Not a prayer" and that he's angry that Michael in recent years has crapped on many people who helped him get to the top

"We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

In a way the Quincy stuff doesn't really surprise me because he's been saying and doing loopy shit for a while now so I kinda don't expect much.

But Swedien, that surprises the shit out of me because I thought he was like one of the decent 'ride-or-die' people that MJ was associated with.
